R56 Floor Mats
Wow. Scott, Sharp interior. Never saw the old R53? interior quite like that before, or the chrono pack. I understand the R53 sentiment about the older styling now. Very sharp indeed.
Thx Bayou7, Great info. Super pics. Where do you store the cargo area lid/cover when the rear area is open?
TK...,
Good question, so I went out and tried it with seats up. As you know by previous posts, the Coco mats have a thick rubber backing, but the cargo mat does rollup fine and can fit into the boot area, i.e. on top of the boot box( see pic).
There has been some previous discussion of the boot box, but, for the most part, it's not a common item. My MINI dealer reported that he saw very few of them. I like it---- completely flattens out the rear cargo area and provides organized space for the boot. One problem, though, is that the upper portion of the box tends to widen a bit so that the plastic compartment separators don't stay in inserts, reducing support for the lid and, subsequuently, things put on the mat. I corrected this by using plastic ties that stretch across the top of the box and through the holes for the inserts to maintain it's shape and the support for the lid. Now, the compartment seaprators stay perfectly in place.

Sorry to resurrect, but I'm still confused. $55 for a single front rubber floor mat- or is that for a pair? The Mini configurator doesn't really make it clear, and I was quoted $155 for font and rear rubber mats by the dealer- which seems pretty high.
Thanks
Thanks
That price is per pair. Morristown MINI sells them online for $55 for the front, $32 for the rear.
I have the factory rubber mats for winter. They come in pairs, work well, and look good.
Off topic but Scott's interior and chrono pack are SHARP!
I wish that the chrono pack was an option when I ordered my machine. The big speedo is a bit much for me and I use the digital speedo on the tach anyway. I stuck my GPS suction-cup mount on it.
Is that a Works badge on the dash?

And yes, that's a Works logo on the dash, but it's not a Works car - the logo is part of the carbon-fiber dash, and can't be easily removed since it's a decal under the clearcoat.
Wow -- reading through this thread for the first time, I'm now wondering if I should ditch my OEM rubber mats (which were not "thrown in" as part of the deal) in favor of Coco Mats.
The only thing I CAN'T STAND (yes, it does deserve emphasis) is that my OEM rubber mats slip around like crazy. I attempted to use the plastic screws to anchor them, but to no avail.
Has anyone else had issues with the OEM mats re: slippage? If so, how'd you fix the problem?

My OEM rubber mats have two plastic/velcro disks for anchoring and they seem to work perfectly. Do you have them?
Newt - that's one good lookin MINI!
You didn't ask me...
But I highly recommend you get Jeff to send you some samples first...
you have a lot of different colors/shades in your car and it's really hard to tell without putting the material in there... that's what I did. I recommend these samples:
Black w/Natural Dot
Black w/Taupe Dot
Natural Herringbone
Natural w/White Dot
Jaspe
Jave

Cheap Mats
Personally, I refused to pay $125 for a set of mats from the dealer as a matter of principal. I went to KMart, bought a set of mats for about $25, took a pair of very heavy duty sheers and cut the drivers side mat to make it fit around the foot rest. Looks great, fits great and does not slide around.
Tommy, Second that!
The dealer charge for rubber mats that should be tossed into any deal is just absurd. Kind of like the MINI license plate frame for $40. Can't understand paying a ridiculous sum to advertise further I'm driving a MINI, when it's already obvious on the car.
I bought a long, heavy rubber floor mat at Wal-Mart. It was for the entire rear floor area of a bench seat, crew cab type truck. Cut to fit and all done for the same that you paid. Great for winter and I could care less if it isn't some MINI type thing.
I'll put the $100 saved toward a roof rack I can actually use.
Since carpeted MINI floor mats don't come free (nonsense) w/ the car, I'd much rather support the Coco Mat company, or some other. Probably wear better too.
got a long rubber mat for a trauck They should be paying us.

I have the OEM rubber mats and mine came with the velcro disks. I chose not to attach them and I can tell you that the fit is so good that there's no sliding around of the mats. The mats themselves are very smooth in the area where my feet are while driving which is a nuisance as there's not enough traction for me feet to not slip, especially when wet.
Have you noticed the back of the mat where the discs stick to on the drivers side is a different material? The passenger side on my set don't have that same material (all rubber backed), so the discs won't stick to the passenger side.
Cocomats are here.
Got my set of cocomats today (black/natural). They are great looking and match the Tuscan Beige interior perfectly. Very heavy mats what with the thick rubber backing. I like that they won't move around and the width is perfectly cut for my car. They make the car look way different than the OEM black carpet ones, add a lot of color. (the seats are not the color in the pix, they're the color of the plastic trim or of the other seat)

I have the red/black coco mats. Love them. I brought them with me when I picked up Otto and let them put them in while I completed paperwork. Figured it was the least I could do. They liked them too, so much nicer than plain black OEMs.
