I think the MINI begs for stripes. They let other drivers that this is a car with character, not just some sluggish econobox, and it might not be a good idea to cut it off.

 

I think the answer depends on how long you want to remain with your wife. Make the proper choice based upon that answer.

Have you looked at all the different kinds of stripes available? I know MINI sells bonnet stripes and sport stripes (parallel stripes over the hood and down the back). There's also a wide variety for sale online if neither suit your fancy.

In other words, there's a lot to choose from, so take your time before you decide.

 

Who will be the primary driver? They get to decide! Me? I'd go with stripes!

 

Wait until you get it, then research all the third-party stripes out there -- you'll find something you can agree on.

 

Any guesses on how I stand on the subject of bonnet stripes ??

I'm gonna have to go against the grain here and vote for [No Stripes]...
Personally i think that the bonnet has alot of character already and that stripes would be better served on the Sides of the car...but...that being said, i have always liked the 2 colour off center type of stripes.

 

I didn't get stripes on mine, but if I was getting another color, like Lighting blue, I would get the sport stripes. They make the car look sporty and aggressive. I don't like the bonnet stripes much, but i do like the stripes that run from bumper to bumper.

Personally, I think stripes add a certain "something" to the MINI. But, it's all in what you like...and of course, what the wife likes.... Gotta keep that other half happy...

you might consider something more subtle which could still satisfy you...i pulled my factory stripes off and went with this....i may do some stripes later on depending how my mods go, and you can buy high quality automotive vinyl custom cut in any color for about $40 for 10 yards...my wife doesn't really notice but then she is a special case

 

I think it depends on the color...but I also agree that you should probably listen to your wife.... ;-)

I'm in the same delima, not because my wife wants them, I just am not sure that I want them. Currently, I have a monotone Dark Silver. I think black stripes would look very nice, but I like it without too! If I had a red, or light blue or yellow, there wouldn't be any debate and would have stripes. The dark silver, however kinda looks cool without.

What a quandary to be in!

 

Is the person that says "Yes" on stripes the same person you have Sex with ?? Then I think the answer is obvious

 

Stripes are cheaper than diamonds.
