Wow, you are taking delivery of a 10/6 production next week? Mine finished production on 10/10 and I won't take delivery until late November!

If the parking space is tight enough that you need the powerfold mirrors, do you have to then climb out of the boot after you park the car?

The powerfold mirrors are also heated, so I'm guessing they've gone to the change simply to reduce the number of different mirrors they have to have on hand.

All the stars definitely aligned. It went into production shortly after I ordered. It got on the first ship available, 3 days after production finished. And I'm in Northern Virginia, which is a relatively short journey for my MINI. (5-7 days after docking is the ETA, and docking is Thursday.)

Still, the waiting is awful.

I have seen this in Italy. The cars need to be park very very close to the building in the alley, so the other cars can still use the alley. Our friend also drove us thru some streets between buildings that she had to fold both mirrors before entering. It is that narrow! That's probably why there are so many scooters and Smart cars there.

Well, it looks like the answer is that the CWP does not include the power folding mirrors and I will be ordering the mirrors and heated seats separately.

My MA looked into it further and decided that was the best route to take. No word on where he got his info though.

I heard once that fees/taxes for parking in Japan were set by the width of the vehicle. If that's the case somebody would save some money!!!

I'm a fool, still holding out a bit of hope that the Powerfolds will be on the new ones.

If you don't mind, give us a final confirmation (yeah or nay) when you get your car early next week.

is it not possible?

The configurator lets you put cwp and pf at the same time but is this not possible?

It took a week longer than it should have, but I got my car today. No powerfolds, despite being included on the order sheet. Now for the slog through the MINI customer service. Should be fun.

Thanks for the update - it sucks about the PW mirrors.

What are you discussing w/ Mini Customer Service? The mirrors?i

Yes, discussing the mirrors. I know it was a software glitch and they never intended to sell it that way. I work in software development, so I know this stuff happens. However, the software glitch was not my fault. I was promised something I did not receive. I have no specific expectations of what will or should result, but that software glitch was live for far too long. MINI can't expect to implement poor testing methodology and just say "oops" when it's finally caught.

In my experience the configurator software doesn't seem to always be kept up to date. There are options availabe that the configurator doesn't even have and vice-versa. The most important thing is to check directly with your MA when you are ready to order and verify if what you want is available. Ask them if there is new stuff that isn't in the configurator yet! I got the weed steering wheel and shifter **** that wasn't in the configurator only because my MA told me about it. The configurator is a good tool for playing around with designes but ultimately your MA is should has the more current info.

I bet there would be a large market for that if it showed up on the configurator.

Seriously, though, I understand and agree. It's why I took delivery anyway and won't be irrational in my dealings with customer service. But everything I had detailing my order indicated the powerfolds. If MINI can't keep the configurator accurate, it has a more fundamental problem that needs to be fixed. That will only get fixed through the consequences of customer demands.

Thanks for this information...now I'm glad I caught this and told my MA to switch my order to remove the CWP and replace it with heated seats and the powerfold mirrors.

If this had happened to me, I would have definitely "pushed" the issue. Posting powerfold mirrors in the CWP for a couple of days is probably acceptable, but certainly not a month!
