Question about Park Light Indicator

Hi, I just got my new MCSa and I noticed that the Automatic Transmission Park Light Indicator seems to stay on after I turn the car off. I'm talking about the little red "P" indicator on the center console. Not sure if this is normal. I don't want the battery to run down. I would think all lights would turn off after I take the key out. I do have the parking brake pulled up. What do you guys think?

Ours does the same thing. It's probably normal and is an led or something that does not require much power. I didn't notice if its on when we get back in, I'll have to ask the wife and get back to you.

Mine does the same thing. It does eventually turn off - but takes a long time.
dogdal24 I like your 05's name. I was introducing my girl to someone today and she said "oh you got a smile car" she says she smiles every time she sees one (I hope more often then that since they are rather rare in our parts lol)

Yes, my wife's '05 does the same. It is probably a LED rather than a light bulb so very little juice will keep it lit for some time after you shut the car off.

Absotulety normal, just an extra reminder that you have shutdown your car in "Park". Power will shutoff in a fixed time.
