Show us your R56 MINI Cooper (non-S) w/ Sport/Viper Stripes!
I did not order the regular bonnet stripes thinking that sport stripes (on the bonnet only) were the way to go with a non-S Cooper. Now I'm having second thoughts (and wondering if I shouldn't have gotten the regular bonnet stripes).
If you've got a non-S Cooper with sport stripes on the bonnet, please post your pics here to help me decide one way or the other.

Sorry, my wife won that argument, so I don't have the sport stripes. But I love 'em and think that it's a good thing that they are a bit more novel. IMO the boot stripes are a bit Viperesque overkill.
You're not stuck with your decision anyway (except a few bucks). You can always add or change later!

Surely mine won't be the first (or will it?)....

My (ex) R56 was non-S silver with sport stripes.
Look on the thread - Show your R56 at roughly page 10. My car is there with the sports stripes. I love(d) them. R56 - R.I.P.

On my new MINI (S/manual) I will have the "classic" bonnet stripes. Now - few details:
- the "classic" V stripes have a white thin border - much more contrasty. The sports ones have no such border.
- the sports stripes continue on the boot of the car - behind your rear license plate. Quite nifty.
- the sports stripes are 12$ less expensive...
Hope that helps. Yes - I'd go for the same sport stripes anytime.

I think that's the pic that led me to choose sports stripes to begin with. Thanks for reminding me of it. I like the way the MINI wings are silver against black but the black center is set off against the paint in the gap.

Cutout
Both the front stripes and rear stripes are already pre-cut with the wing cutout. There is (to my recollection) about a 3-4 mm spacing between the wings and the stripes - both on the front and on the back. On the mentioned thread above you can see also the rear of the car (the stripes continue on the boot).

Yeah - I gotta say it was inspired by things I remember from when I was a kid (60s). When a car was supposed to look fast, or look like a racing car, it had stripes. All kinds of imagery comes to mind. Slot cars, Cunningham sports cars, Speed Racer cartoons... I wanted one of those!

I like the way wide stripes look, but they also remind me of a current day treatment that you see on Vipers, and subsequently any Dodge truck, and Mustangs are always trying to grab that wide stripe cred - all leads back to Shelby.
But I like the narrower stripes because they remind me of those cars from childhood.

Go big or go home! Take a look at the Viper stripes on my S in my gallery. The stripes are 23" overall width.
