On my 2008 MCS order this December, I've been vascillating (in a Kosher sort of way) between Dark Silver with Black Roof and Astro Black with Black Roof and Chrome Package or Mirrors only. Could any owners of this MCS Astro Black Combo, please post pictures? Thanks for your help.

I had a black car once, and found it too much work to keep it clean and looking fine. The silver does hide the dirt very well. (If that's important to you)

All black interior with AB/AB exterior and JCW CF touches. Using a car duster each day (when it is cooled down) will keep it in top shape.

 

Love my AB/AB with tuscan. It gets dirty, so what? Takes 10 min to wash. DS was my second choice tho.

 

Both are great colors. Here is my astro black with chrome mirrors.

 

Looks great! What color is the pinstripe?

 

It's red. That was a dealer gift.

 

 

strat10: Is the the OEM roof rack? How do you like it?

 

I actually really like them. When I first saw them I thought they were a bit ugly, but they have really grown on me. They install into the roof and are really strong. It sure beats drilling holes into the roof like I did on my last Mini!

 

 

Have you seen both in person? Astro Black isn't a true black and never looks as good as a Jet Black car (which I hear they're bringing back for '08, right?) IMO.

 

However, I need driving (fog) lamps. But the big one.

Our '07 MCS is AB/AB. I like it but would have preferred a jet black. You can wax the heck out of it but the metal flake in the paint almost gives it a hazy look. You can't really get that deep "look right through the paint" look that you can with a solid jet black car.
