What color do you guys recommend???

My parents love the mini so much - they plan on ordering one for themselves.

They havent yet decided what color they want. I do know, however, that they don't want to deal with the problems that arise with darker colors as I heard from a person who works with cars that swirls marks are most apparent on black and red paints.

Anyway, what color do you guys recommend they get?

At this point, it's not really a matter of what color they like best but rather what color will be less of a hassle to deal with in terms of, well, everything (contaminents, swirl marks, etc.)

Thanks.

Boy, all the colors are beautiful! I'm sure CR PW will have some good feedback if he sees your post!

If your parents live in a sunny, warm area, I'd definitely consider the yellow or (obviously my personal favorite) the pepper white Red in So Cal really fades over the years.

So I guess I would consider:
Lots of sun exposure? Do they like to wash cars for fun? Are they "sporty" or "classic" types? Are they driving it daily or occasionally? Tough call!!! I'd love one in every color!

Chil Red is my favorite obviously it does show swirlmarks though if you don't care for it properly. If your parents want a finish that hides the swirlies they should go with one of the silvers or light metallics but those colors don't look as spectacular when they are clean & shiny. It's a tradeoff

Chili Red is the fastest color, naturally. It's also the coolest. And, it will not fade in SoCal (or any other hot, sunny area) if properly cared for....you get out of your investment what you're willing to put into it.

Lightning Blue is pretty cool too...but only if you're a 2-MINI family

****Ahem**** Parents of "distinction" such as yours no doubt, deserve the finest in Mini Hues which obviously would lead the like-minded & graciously creative to embrace none other than ***Ahem*** the almighty Pepper White.

You look at the dark colors and see the opportunity for swirls.

I look at the dark colors and see the opportunity for deep shine and unmatched reflection.

Like most things in life, just a matter of one's perspective.

If you want to continue to look at things through your current perspective, PEPPER WHITE. The swirls will still be there just like on any paint. But you won't see them unless you look really closely.

Being **** is a good reason to go with black or red. If you're truly ****, you want to SEE everything that's on your paint so you can FIX it.

Unbiased feedback:

We have a green and a purple MINI, but if I wanted easy to care for and no worries, I'd go with pepper white. I have a 1994 white Land Rover which always looks pretty good despite the fact that I wash the paint less than once a year.

You might be able to get away with washing a Land Rover once a year, but nix that idea if you have a PW MINI. The boot will get filthy very easily. It needs washing as frequently as any other color MINI. You can just get away with polishing the swirls out of it less often.

pure silver for the lazy.
My father's silver MDX doesn't show dirt. After washing it, you can hardly notice the difference.

If I had your ID, I'd go for Pepper White. It's $450 cheaper than most other colors.

I went for Astro Black, and it's a b*tch to keep clean.

I would agree with the consensus: PW seems like the best choice for the situation. And yes, I drive a CR/ W, so there! Truth be told, all the colors look great, so you can't go wrong. Its all about what suits you best!

Pure silver will hide the dirt a little better than pepper white on the sides at least. No color will hide it on the boot.

Dark Silver for the win. It gives it a sophisticated look.
