You can only get Laser Blue on the MCS I'm pretty sure that means it's special ,but some people just dont want a special car .

I'd get PS or DS next time---maybe SS? PW is a good "starter" hue. What color is yours, GIRL...and do you like it?

It IS a matter of what color they like best. Better to look at a dirty car in a color you like than a clean one in a color you hate.

Besides whenever you wash the car that shows the dirt more, the difference is more dramatic.

Reminds me of the joke about two people in a restaurant:

"Wow! the food here is so bad it's almost inedible."

"Yeah. And they give you such small portions..."

Have them wait for the doodoo butter brown Clubman

Seriously, though, I don't know why I like that color so much, but to me, it looks really good and fits the character perfectly

Maybe what you need is a dart board with little mini cut-outs stuck to it.

I got Pure Silver partly because it is a practical color, and visible. I can't recall whether it was my insurance co. or Consumer Reports, or someone else, but somewhere I read that silver was the color other drivers could see most easily.

I also think it looks good with the Black trim on the MINI.

I've always wanted a red MINI--starting back in the late 60's when they were Minis. Used to watch them race. So, there never was any other choice for me. I picked a white roof because of the intense sun/heat here in Houston. It's my first red car, and I suppose some would think it's a midlife crisis color--but I just got tired of having silver cars...have had 3 in a row.

Go CR/W!

I wished Mini had a "nightfire" color option for the MCS. Unfortunately, it did not and I chose the "dark silver/blk roof" instead.

I'm picking my car today after waiting for 8 weeks!

I would not swap my Chilli red/White for any other color. Glad I got it.

PW for me...

Originally wanted Yellow... ordered Chili Red. A week or so later I saw the Italian Job for the first time and coulden't keep my eyes off the white car in that flick... Called my MA the next day before the order locked in and changed the color to Pepper White w/Black.
...I'm very pleased and I've never looked back. That's my color story for what it's worth, but obviously, to each his/her own...

I really like how the silver looks with the black trim and the black stripes!

My significant other: "I don't like silver at all... looks like they forgot to paint it at the factory".

Me... of the silver family, I love the Dark Silver.

It's so hard to chose a specific color! The MINI is the only car I know of that looks great in any COLOR !

As for the maintenence issue, I suppose that any of the following will do nicely...

Pure Silver
Sparkling Silver
Dark Silver

Good Luck & Motor On!

My first choice in the configurator was sparkling silver. It's a unique and appealing shade. When I got to see the cars in person the Astro Black just looked really cool in different light, and with the trim and pillars being black, it just seemed to work really well.

If I had it to do over again, I'd probably go back to my first impressions and get Sparkling Silver. That is if they don't add some cool new color. Call me wierd, but I really like the Clubman's Chocolate Brown. And my favorite is the Silk Green (I think that's what it's called) that I think was/is available on the MC.

Lazer Blue! Although, I am not sure I have ever seen a blue lazer? Its worth the extra $450 they charge for metalic paints.

If you happen to like those colors, sure it is !!

Us... we picked CR and PW without even realizing there was a charge for other color options.

That $450 would not have swayed us, so I agree with you... small price to pay in the big scheme of things, to have the color you prefer most.

location?

Unless I missed it, you don't mention what area of the country you're in.
My PW MCS doesn't see much water. I'm in Northern California. On top of the relatively dry weather, we're supposed to be conserving water. Hence I get by(with EXCELLENT results, I'll add) a lot of the time just using a car duster and speed shine from Griot's Garage w/no washing except for the wheels. It's pretty easy to take care of, imo. I applied a synthetic wax that I got from Detailers Paradise immediately after getting the car, and the finish has been very user friendly. We'll see how it goes during what passes for Winter around here. Point is, if you're in a relatively moderate climate rainwise, you can maintain a white or SILVER Mini with very intermittent water washings, using the items I mentioned.
I will agree with another poster that the SILVER colors are easy to maintain, but of course if areas ever have to be touched up/resprayed, the matchup is pretty tough. See my gallery photos. That Grinnall Scorpion's color is Audi Alu Silver, and it's been very easy to maintain.
Whatever color you get, it's wrapping the coolest car on the planet, so drive and have fun!!
