New MINI on the streets!

Mini Cooper S ordered on 8/3/07, Arrived 9/24/07

So my car finally came! I'm loving it so far... I swear the speedometer is off though, it says I'm going way faster than I seem to be driving ;P Also I haven't figured out how to make the driver's seat recline yet. I love the mood lights though!

So here she is...

Congrats on the car, great color!
On the righthand side of your seat, there should be a small lever that will recline your seat. I can relate to the speedometor, this little thing is zippy

Have fun!

speedo is off by about 5% fast. Its a BMW thing. It's not as bad as my last 2 BMWs though which were up to 10% fast. Who knows why... but I've heard they do it for insurance.

sorry to digress - but allow me..
if its off by 5%, does that not mean our warranties are off by 5% too??

1200 miles. stay below 4500 rpm and 100mph. do not drive at same speed for an extended period of time. Brake gently.

It as been my experience that if you do accurate calculations you will find that the MINI speedometer indicates a speed approximately 10% faster than actual speed. The odometer however is fairly accurate, recording only 1% more miles than actual. This is typical for most motorcycles and it is very annoying.
This explains why when your speedometer is showing 75 mph and traffic is passing you in a 65 mph zone it’s because you are actually only going 67.5 mph.

Great color and wheels. What options did you get?

I didn't go for very many options ( I would if I had the money ) Even just the MSRP was a stretch for me financially since I've only been working for a year and I'm renting a place on a medium income job. So with that out of the way...

I got the sports package with 17" web spoke wheels and a multi function steering wheel. I actually loved the standard interior colors and layout so I left all that as is

Nice MINI, good choices on the options, I like the defaults on the interiors. Next time you order a new MCS you will have a great idea of the options you want.

Enjoy the ride.
