That's why they have the 'secret compartment'. But don't tell anyone, or it won't be a secret anymore.

The Mini can fit an entire German metal band in the glove box? That's some serious clown car engineering right there.

But seriously...then you have to reach inside occasionally to feed the scorpions. Maybe just a warning sticker would work. 'This glove box protected by Scorpions'.

The first Mini I had didn't even have a door on the "glove box".

Duh. I wasn't talking about putting the whole band in there. Just rip their albums to an iPod, don't tell Birdman you did it, and sling the iPod in there. Covered.

Seems he really has an issue with Ipods.

It was one of those sexy new iPods. Totally makeoutable. (Though you won't be finding one of those in my glove box. 16GB of storage space? Bah! Give me the 160GB old school stylee.)

An Ipod would easily fit in the secret compartment. So would most other valuables you'd worry about. What's the problem? You DO have one, don't you?

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but when I had my little commuter-shooter stolen last Christmas, one of the few bits of damage they did to it (besides the railroad track jumping and letting it run very low on oil) was breaking the glovebox lock to get at whatever was inside.

In all seriousness, if they're already inside the car with the intention to steal something, they'll just break it. Now you're out whatever you were trying to protect and you've got broken car bits. In my case, there wasn't even anything inside, my wife was just curious if the lock worked or not and left it locked by accident.

No locks on the 07 glove box. Use the secret compartment, and don't go around telling everyone about it. Hopefully there are few Mini owners that are also car thieves...

A responsible Mini owner does not let a flunky park his Mini...

The lock on our 2006 Mercedes E350 broke, just by simply inserting the key!

Think of the time saved back at the dealer for warranty work!
