Am I the only one who got the roof in the same color as the car? Everyone minii see has the black top? Any got pics of there roof being the same color as the body?

 

I believe Mach V Dan here has a very sharp looking DS/DS. I almost got the same, but ended up getting the black roof (it was one the last tough decisions I had to make, because I like both looks). Out of curiosity, what color did you go with?

 

Sparkling silver. Everyone seems to have LSD on their cooper, I knew I should of got that.

 

I bought a DS/DS, but to be honest with you, only because it was on the lot and had LSD and SS. I do like it, though.

Nope - you are definitely not the only one.. But I will have to agree with you - most MINIs I see - have the contrasting roof colors...I love them all

Mine is Black on Black in Black under Black. Some wise guy even came on here and tried to tell me I needed some contrast. If you like what you got, don't worry about what anyone else thinks!

 

Nope, you're not alone. I ordered the roof color to be the same as the body color, ONLY because I plan to put my custom bonnet stripes, and the color would have looked awful with the white roof (my original plan).

The great thing about MINI is you can customize your MINI in almost anyway you like!

 

DS/DS with a sunroof. I like it.

 

Of those that DO have same-color roof, I think the majority are metallic colors. Although I got CR/B, I really like the non-metallic solids, too (PW, OB, CR, and MY) - it really gives it a classic Mini (vs. MINI) look.

Contrasting roofs are a bit of a MINI thing, but body-colored roofs do look utterly fantastic!!! I has a SS/SS loaner car and it was amazing looking.

 

thanks for all the replies, for a minute i thought it was just me.

 

i almost got the body color on mine (that was my orginal plan). while talking with my MA about the sunroof he mention that if i wanted to hide the sunroof to go with the black roof. that's what i did and 'm glad i did, don't get me wrong i like both but also black and blue is my 2 favorite colors.

 

So what color are you getting? Share with the class.

I got a sparkling silver and roof, premium package, alarm, ipod, garmin navi, rear fogs, and hifi, pretty plain and simple, didnt wanna add to mcu more, since I wanna buy a house after i pay off the car in 6 months.

 

I didn't want a sunroof, and I thought the body-colored roof would look nice. I like it.

White doesn't make sense on Pure Silver (might not even be available) and black is not practical, IMO -- too much of a solar collector.

 

Solid Sparkling Silver.. I personally think it looks sorta "classy"..

 

I have to say that I'd probably never personally order a body color roof (I'm a white roof fan myself.) but the Minis that do have them still look great. I think I'm just so used to expecting a different color roof on a Mini that when you see one w/ body color it's a bit of a shock. Plus with the glass surround there's no visual connection between the roof and the rest of the body.

 

That color would look great with bronze wheels.

 

It's your choice and any of the color combos still looks rather good.

In your area you may have picked something relatively less common but across the country there are many MINIs with body colored roofs.

White roof is a classic and works with the white side mirrors and even white wheels. Pick a body color and it's brighter overall with the white and usually a little cooler in the hot sun. Sunroof will be black so some owners like a white vinyl graphic.

Black roof is more aggressive with either darker body color or for contrast with light colors. This can work well with silver or dark silver and works well with Anthracite or black wheels (and with polished silver or machined lip). Add black stripes, black aero grill, and black mirrors to match.

Body color is the "other" option and since it comes standard on just about every other car except the Toyota FJ, it's either a first choice or not. Most MINIs look very good with body colored roof but most owners do skip the white wheels and go for silver or dark wheels.

Body color is a good choice if you plan to dechrome or black out your exterior.

Sunroof will look black so a light color MINI would have that stand out a bit but it's not bad since the pillars are black.
