CA = East Bay MINI / Niello MINI??? {just got back from Niello - Thursday noon}

About to place an order - I have talked to both these dealers and on first contact both seem very good - both are a little off on extended Warr prices (not a major deal) After reading the forums now for a few weeks - I have read were 'some' dealers attitudes change after the deposit and deliver dates Drag on - Anyone have any issues I should know about connected to either dealer listed above? Thanks, harley0711@yahoo.com

Can't speak about Niello, but I ordered mine through East Bay Mini. That was back in the day when you were put on a 8-12mo wait list for a MCS. I got mine after a 6mo wait and at MSRP......no dealer markup, thus the wait. All my service has been at EBM and has been excellent. Other folks that I know, who live in/arround the Sacto area have had good things to say about Niello as well.
My '05 turned 3yrs old yesterday......welcome to the neighborhood
good luck on your purchase.

Happy with EBM

I purchased a 2003 MC and a 2007 MCS from East Bay Mini, even though I live in Santa Cruz. I've been totally satisfied with them. I like the low-pressure salespeople, MSRP pricing, and saturday service hours.

I ordered one of the first customer spec'd cars from East Bay MINI back in April 2002 and they have always treated me well. I visited their new MINI facility today to take advantage of a free Safety Check they are offering.

Ordered from Niello in Sac

I ordered from Niello in Sac and so far so good. Haven't had any service yet but I did just place a call and got VM regarding some exhaust film on the pipes. It took about 2months to get the order in.

MA: Tony.

MSRP, no markup, no freebies.

East Bay has always been good to me. I've heard nothing but good things about Niello as well. I'd say go with whichever is more convenient for you.

Michael,

Both are good dealers. Niello does offer Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts a discount for both parts and service. They have been very supportative of our club and events. I have nothing BUT great service there.

That being said and I see you are from Turlock, Redwood Empire Mini Enthusiasts is having it's 2007 Mini Mountain Tour (Part 2) this Labor Day weekend. We will be touring the Yosemite area, staying in Oakhurst as our "base camp". Please feel free to join us on the run. You can join in for the whole run or just a day or two if that works. It's free to join REME and go on the run. Only costs are your own gas, food, and lodging. You can get details by going to www.redwoodempiremini.com, then click on the MegaBBS forum and scroll down to REME Events.

Hope to see you. We should have a bunch of MINIs there.

Cheers,

Norm

I've only visited EBMini and MOMV (mtn. view). Both were pretty nice w/ no pressure to sell. I did seem to be greeted more readily at MOMV though and asked if I needed any help or wanted to test drive. I think the wait time right now @ EB Mini is late Nov delivery, and MOMV is Dec delivery.

Pooper, I don't think Harley has a Mini yet, does REME accept those who have Mini's "on order" or "in concept"? hahahaha, thought about joining one of your runs, but I only have my DC2 Integra right now. I'd prolly stick out in the caravan like a sore thumb ;-)

I have heard good things about East Bay MINI, but nothing about the other dealership. I have been working only with MINI of Mountain View though and so far it has been a great experience. No push, no markup, they return my phone calls, and the team is all really nice helpful people. I believe the wait time for orders is longer at MOMV, but if for some reason you run into trouble with the others, I strongly endorse MOMV as a good backup for you.

i just ordered my mini through niello mini and so far they have been great. i ordered it early this month and they've kept me updated and have treated my well. my mini is on the MEDEA and should arrive 9/17. whenever i have a question i just shoot them an e-mail and its usually responded to within a couple hours. i personally dealt with tony reyes. granted i dont have my mini yet so i cant comment on the "post purchase" treatment but up to this point they have been great and they gave it to me for msrp

My car is over at Niello right now. I stopped by this afternoon, but I forgot to ask them about any "issues". I bought my car at Niello. Unfortunately, my MA, Ben, who was the absolute COOLEST car sales person I've ever dealt with, long ago moved on to greener pastures. The rest of the folks at Niello are a good, nice bunch too, however, and you should have a pleasant experience if you decide to buy from there. I see in one of the above posts that they are letting some out the door with no markup now. Good news! For a long time, it was all markup, all the time.

both are offering at MSRP - I sold my PU on Monday, So until the Mini arrives I will be using one of my other two toys (Gallery). I am riding to Sac in the morning to look at a couple of color combo's that EB does not have, then I will be placing an order on Monday... I did learn about EX Warr from John at EB -
above the standard warr on the Mini - Mini offers a (Service warr 6yr/100K - covers ONLY service in the last two years = $1700) There is a 'third party' warrany that you can build anyway you want - for example 7yr/70K = $2000 and it has a $50 deductable. This covers everything Except Service type items... ??????????????????????

They've got a good selection right now, including an Oxygen Blue or two (mmmm). They also have a gorgeous Laser Blue convertible.

I bought the extended 4 yr/50,000 service with my car. It was great. I wish they'd had the 6 yr/100k option when I bought mine. I did get an aftermarket extended warranty when I bought the car - I think 7yr/100k, and it was about $2k or $3k. I had a front wheel bearing replaced today, and the warranty is covering that, although I have a $100 deductible to cover.

Tony was our MA for Angel. He was really great. He stayed late one night so we could pick her up after I got off work, they had 90% of the stuff taken care of so all we had to do was sign the paper work, which is a good thing cause we showed up with three kids, 6, 7, and 9 at the time. We went back and fourth on service for a while between Neillo and Concord. Both had great service. Every time I walk into Neillo Tony says hi and he remembers my name, I have only been in there maybe 4 times in the past year and a half, which to me means he doesn't just fire and for get. I have always had good service at Niello.

Never been to East Bay MINI. I try to avoid San Francisco area at all costs.

I agree with 70sPop- I had to pay a $2500 markup for my 05 MCS!!!

[and then they forgot to install all the dealer installed options... put my brakes on upside down and backwards.... forgot to order me parts... argued with me over things (and got mad when I was right!) and tried to recharge me $2500 for my JCW wheels a year after I paid for them. ugh.]

I hope they're better now!!

We paid a mark-up but we bought off the lot and are not patient enough to wait for delivery.

I think if build your car on MINIUSA, which is what I did, then I think you just pay what it says on the build sheet...that's what I did.

Got up and was on the Harley at 0600 headed for Sac Mini - wanted to beat the heat and most of the traffic - well, still found traffic and got to the Mini dealer at about 0800 - service was open but no MA's yet... got some coffee and made my self at home. A female MA showed up and was very helpfull and answered all my questions - I then learned that they Still start with a mark up of $999 = Cooper and $1999 = S ... She then said they now have room to work = I said, YA, since EB is selling at MSRP. She had no respose except to say they had quite a few on the lot and tried to warn me of a LONG wait for a Mini - I now see why and how they get the mark up... I would be willing to bet if I pulled out my check book and pointed to a car - I would get it a MSRP - However, none there excited me... I am in no hurry.. She really did want my business and stated I should call her and she would work with me ??? What that means is anyones guess - She was Very helpfull and I did enjoy my visit there - On the way home I stopped at Lodi Toyota looking for a Silver/gray leather Highlander - Boy what a difference in the way I was treated there... No MA's - Plain ole Car Salesman and they all SUCK>>>>>>

For a few moments I was interested in the "Leather Lounge" but was balking at the $1900 then I saw where I 'also' had to order the sport seat + $300 and the Black Plano +$200 - so in reality the Lounge Leather would cost an addition $2400 = Nope.... Ya, I know - buy a package and maybe save a few $$$ - I do NOT want the sun roof...

This is what I do like about the Mini - we order it the way WE want it... Thanks to all who have offered help and answers to questions... Now for the wait... I plan to pull out the Visa by 5pm today..
