Window tinting

I'd like some opinions on tinting, and what % looks best. I'm also leaning toward having the limo tint done on the sunroof. Anyone have pictures of their tint?

Thanks!

This is 35% on back and side windows, 25% on door windows. Did not do the sun roof, going to wait and see if it is needed.

I'm confused. The lower the %, the darker the tint. You rears look darker than your front. Tint on the sunroof makes a huge difference. I have limo tint (5%) on the sunroof and the car is much, much cooler.

My bad for posting before having morning coffee, back windows are darker. Becasue of CA laws did not gamble on darker door windows since Skeeter is not running with a front license plate either.

I have tinted sunroofs before and well it can reduce the heat, I have not had a "huge" differance. Living here in Tracy you adapt to the temps or you suffer.

I had my front windows tinted before I picked up the car at the dealership. They have an individual do the tinting for them - I paid him directly. They appear to be about the same as the back windows as far as percent of tint - makes for a uniform appearance.

On the topic of sun roof tinting....have only discussed this with one technician outside of MINI dealership after delivery and he said he wouldn't do it - too hard to get to or something or other. What's been the experience with sunroof window tinting?? I love my sun roof - took delivery June 21 so haven't had it open much in hot, humid Orlando, FL. The heat coming in is not as bad as I would gave guessed but more tinting may make the interior even cooler.

Thanks for all the pictures! I believe in Georgia the limit is 32%, so that's what I'll probably go with.

I remember long ago someone telling me you should use a darker tint in back, the logic being that this will 'fool' the authorities into thinking that your front windows are only factory tinted (and thus in compliance). Does that hold any water?

Anyone with tint know whether or not it is metalized or not. I heard it can interfere with GPS and such.

I don't have a GPS, but bought metalized tint for better heat rejection. Just wanted to know if anyone had problems w/radio reception with this type before I do the install.

Thanks

I just got my roof tinted to 5% Limo and all but windshield done to 35% and it made a huge difference in the inside temp and the need for sun glasses. I highly recommend it. Sorry no pic with the tint yet.

limo tint on sunroof made a HUGE Difference in interior temp on mine, I did 25 % all around, I think 35 is legal here, it's a risk running darker tint

Coopaw and Mega72,

What type of tint did your use. Straight, Metalized, or ceramic?

Geez pick on me day, I'm not sying other people may notice a "huge" differance, all I said was that I did not. Perhaps it is old age, or the weather here. But in summer when we have a day below 80 with wind, to me it is a cool day.

The Oregon limit is 35 percent for windows. I went with the 20 percent for the top, so it would cut the sun and the heat but not so dark that I should have not have even bothered getting a sunroof.

Hey. My mini is one month old! Congrats! I am in Miami too and have not found a place that I like to do the tint. Where did you get that done?
