Nice looking cars there.
What do you mean, you don't
drive each others car? Both are a blast.
know what you're missing.
You have cars you enjoy and that's what counts. You live close, do you ever do the Jenro's Saturday afternoon? Or there's the gathering at Bass Pro Shop in the Hampton/Newport News area on Saturday afternoon also. We hit Jenro's first and sometimes drive over to Bass Pro. Stop by if you have time one of these afternoons and meet us.
but it can't hold a candle to the Mini's cornering.
Yeah, the engine mods are a funny story. When my DH ordered the car back in Feb. 06 he told me that he wasn't going to touch the car with mods. He explained that it was coming stock just how he wanted it. I thought to myself, yeah right. Before the car even hit the production line he had a couple of boxes sitting on the bench. I didn't question it, just smiled knowingly. By the time the last week before delivery arrived the bench had a nicely little stack of boxes and such.
So at this point I just had to ask him what happened to the statement about not needing to add anything to the car. He explained to me that the GT500 has 500HP at the motor, he wants a true GT500 which means at the rear wheels. Say what? We are now taking a brand new car and doing what mods to achieve this? Little to say he has surpassed the so called real GT500 at the rear wheels statement, with a mere 560 horse power at the rear wheels. So after about 5 dyno runs under his belt he seems to be somewhat happy with his mods. Well except for that Keene-Bell thought hovering in his mind. Although a friend from his forum stopped by on his way to Mustang Week in his modded to the hills GT500. He has the fastest modded one out there at the present moment, with the Keene-Bell and butt loads of up grades done by Evolution. My husband loved the performance the car put out, but it lost it's whine from the stock supercharger. The hubby likes the whine.
That whine may save us about 5K.
I haven't been on his forum lately to see the spelling. I've just been hearing a lot about it. I'll have to note that in my brain spell keeper.
I wouldn't even try to play against the GT500 with the Mini. I know it's limits, even though I'm still in the break in period. Lets just say I drive the GT500 and know what it will do. I really laugh at the little ricer cars that come up beside me and want to play with the GT500. They really aren't worth the ticket
if you get caught playing with them. Then they get mad and give you the thumbs down for not playing. I've been known to let it get that far, flip the radar detector on in a safe play area, acknowledge to them that I'll play in their sandbox,:impatient then rip them a new butt hole.
Most of them don't even realize that the GT500 wasn't even close to it's full potential.
Thanks again for all the really nice comments.
What, not as nice as ours? We're not into that.

We are usually with the GT500, but we did do a drive by in the Mini this past Saturday on the way to something else. We may have both there from what we've been discussing. We never notice Minis at these gatherings for some reason. We need to make our mark!

Hello there Mini S Pilot, and thanks for sharing pics with us!
WOW! I can't find the right words to describe seeing Shelby Jr. & Shelby together! I guess I will let the pics do the talking for themselves. Very nice indeed!
I have to agree with everyone that some new hood / boot stripes on Jr. would seem appropriate and cool. Especially stripes of the style that match the GT500.

Jeez, it must be a rush opening your garage every AM and seeing those two waiting for you!
Very cool and thanks again for the pics!
