Well, if I had access to my work computer and you gave me your name or your claim number, I could tell you EXACTLY what State Farm's problem was since that's the company I work for.

However, I don't need that to take a good guess. Three car accident. They are much more complicated than a two-car rear end collision.

Why ? You hit the rear of the car ahead of you. It had to be investigated thoroughly to make sure the third car pushed you into the second car. The driver of the first car had to confirm the number of impacts he/she felt. There may have been witnesses that needed to be interviewed (and they are usually very hard to get to call back because they have no financial interest). There may have been police reports needed and they can take up to two months to come in.

Of course, there is also a chance the claim rep handling the case wasn't as good at their job as I am.

Sorry to hear about Percy's damage! I hope they get him fixed fast, so you can take that trip! Sounds like fun!

Ooops! Yeah, it could be any number of things I reckon. In any case, my MINI's fixed and sooner or later I'll get the deductable - no biggy.

No "ooops" necessary ! I didn't take that as a shot at the company that makes it possible for me to fulfill my obsession with MINIs (and lots of other things).

It's just a good example of why sometimes things are more complicated than they appear on the surface.

Trust me, if we could, claim reps would LOVE to close a claim within a few days of an accident. But there's lots of things outside our control that can drag out the process.

Hope you get that deductible back soon !

Oh this totally stinks!! I'm Soooo sorry to read about this. Maybe there is a place near where you live that you can rent a MINI for your vacation (other insurance company to pay)??? It might be worth checking out.

Glad to hear that you are okay....Poor MINI...

UPDATE:
Contacted the young lady's insurance this morning and got them rolling. Seems she hadn't called them yet, so I gave them her phone number and let them know I was gathering kindling wood They hooked me up with an adjuster, he comes in the morning, and a rental car.
With a little luck we might make our "Heck of the West" road trip, yet. Fingers crossed Percy has a quick hospital stay!

BTW. The GoMiniGo brake light pulser came in the mail today. I should have ordered sooner!
