It is with mixed emotion that I tender my resignation from active membership in Team Craptastic. Percy-Bob, the WonderMINI, left this afternoon for his new home in Dallas. He agreed to go to his new home in order to provide almost one semester of higher education for the Munchkin this fall.

Everything in life’s a trade-off and this is a small sacrifice to make for the Munchkin. Let’s all wish Percy-Bob a long and happy life in his new home.

edit: did you provide the following stipulations in the sale?
1) stripes must be changed on a regular basis to keep P-B looking his best!
2) license plate must stay upside down on the front
3) owner must stay active with MM for the duration of his/her ownership

 

Percy Bob is indeed a wonder car...I consider myself quite fortunate to have shared the road w/ him....and to spend a few brief minutes in his driver's seat (w/ his owner's kind permission). May he long continue to work his magic.

But don't count UJ out of MINIdom quite yet....

 

Sad to hear this Uncle John, but I feel even worse for "the Munchkin" who now must live with the stress of knowing he/she must perform at a very high level academically in order to even come close to justifying this sacrifice.

If I were the poor Munchkin, I'd be shooting for a 4.0 and applying for academic scholarships!

She's going to Tarleton State in Texas. She is in the top 10% of her class and has one little scholarship already. We are hoping for a few more. She's a good'in.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, get the 48" rims instead of the 52" rims, they say the 1/8" of rubber wears to quickly and just does not add that much benefit to the handling.

 

When the munchkin invents the next generation of aircraft coatings whereby the thing will sit right in front of you, but you won't see it, I'll have her pay to have an 04 MINI restored to new, OR make her go buy me one at Barrett-Jackson, complete with unobtanium-framed certificates.

 

Dang, UJ, that's tough! Keep in touch, now, ya hear? We'll need regular updates on the munchkin, anyway, if he succeeds in transmogrifying the Rectabular Excrusion required for invisibilty.

Well, looks like all those MINI meets where she quietly read her books in the back seat really paid off! She is a very cool and talented young lady...fantastic she did so well in school, but I'm not surprised!! Congrats to her...you must be very, very proud.

 

I hope Percy-Bob will be happy at his new home....UJ - I hope you will pop in to say "Hey" once in a while.....maybe another MINI will be in the stars in a couple of years...

I'm with Bumble - you should sell one of Bumble's kidney's instead. Sure, it's nice to have one as a backup, but would you (er, he) miss it more than the MINI?

P.S. PI-here's another good reason not to have kids!

 

John, the sacrifice you made to help with the Munchkin's education is the right thing to do for now.

I expect you to get another MINI ASAP, however...and that is an ABSOLUTE!

And, as Craptastic Emeritus, you are not allowed to leave NAM, either...and that is an ORDER, sir!
