Mud flaps?

Hi there,

Does anyone here with mud flaps have any opinion on whether they're worthwhile? Thanks!

Adam

Although I don't have 'em (I know you're asking for advice from those who do), I couldn't get past the look..

I wanted to buy a pair for my new Mini when I picked it up last month, but there's just 'something' about those four slabs of plastic hangin' off the wheelwells.. huh-uh..

I also don't have them so I can't give a proper assessment but I feel the same as Hogtied. Given that my MINI is Astro Black I really wanted the extra protection mud flaps offer but it just messes with the aesthetics a bit too much for me... I'm still CONSIDERING them however, so if you do go with them I'd be glad to find out your opinion :-)

I have them (front only), installed them myself, they keep a little more of the dirty dirt off the side.

I got them, dealer-installed. High-priced, but worth it for not shooting rocks and grit onto the fenders. Looks seem fine to me, designed to fit the Mini's lines.

I also have them, front and rear. I like them fine and have had several people comment positively when looking at my car. Doesn't seem to me that they mess up the aesthetics. But maybe that's just me.

I have them, installed them myself and I like them. I tend to think my MINI looks better with than without, but maybe that's because I did the work.

mine are on back order, alot of people say they are well worth it to prevent water and dirt coming up the sides and back, also my MA said can prevent gravel from coming up onto the doors.

They are worthwhile. I don't have them. However, they will protect your car and the cars behind you.

I just installed the front mud flaps. I think they look good. They integrate well and don't look like add-ons. They look like they were part of the original design. Due to a number of circumstances, I'll put the rears on later.

I have them and am very glad I got them. They look good and the front ones have absolutely helped protect the sides of the car from potential damage from road debris.

So it sounds like the asthetics are a matter of personal preference (obviously) but the functionality is clear. I'm not sure what to do! I've still got 4 weeks before I get my Mini so there's plenty of time to obsess about this and many other details

I have both the front and rear ones, OEM ones that I installed myself. They were a breeze to install. Personally, I would'nt be without them, On my 07 MINI they blend in so well you hardly notice them

I personally like the MC look with mudflaps. But since I also have about a half-mile of dirt road to travel to get to pavement they also have practical value to me. It also helps that mine were installed at no cost by my dealer.

I got the car with out mud flaps and added the oem front flaps myself ($15 or so) from outmotoring.com. They save a lot of spray that hits the door and the front of the rear fender bulge and yet you hardly notice them on the car. Well worth the money and the 20 minutes or so I spent installing them.

Nope, as far as I know there are only flaps for the stock body styles of the convertibles, Clubmans, MC's, and MCS's. No aero kit or JCW flaps, as of yet.

I got them, and glad I did. Definitely worth it and aesthetically they look just like part of the car.

I have them too. Love them and I think it finishes the back of the car too when viewed from behind.

Absolutely recommend them BUT don't have dealer install due to asking pretty steep prices... my dealer wanted $420 and I purchased for (frnt and rear) about $58 and installed myself...not difficult to do at all (if anyone wants pics and pointers for installation I can provide). Looks...very nicely integrated into lines of car, but all here is all subjective and as you can see some like and some don't
