For those on the west coast waiting for Tarifa. Any idea how long it usually takes from the time it is unloaded from the ship, to the time its off to the dealer? How much time does it spend at the VDC?

Time at VDC depends on the amount of vheicles to process, any options that your car may need installed. Times seem to vary from one to ten days, so no way of being exactly sure of time frame.
Also I started a Tarifa post and have updates on the ships progress.

CONFIRMED!!! Arrives on Friday & ready for pickup on Tuesday!!!

I am only get stripes, bumper protection & no other accessories. I think that is being done at the dealer, anyway.

So confirmed that I am making the trip to pick it up. (Otherwise I will be one &@*&!! off guy!) Either that or if it's not actually ready, I get upset (with a little added artificial emotion of course) and get a bunch of free *&!@! out of the situation.

Hope you all get thru the VDC as quick! Keep us posted!

Saffron arrives tomorrow as well. Nothing to install so I hope she gets out of there quickly too. My MA says 5-7 days on average. Not soon enough for me!!!!!

Are We There Yet?

So, has anyone figured out if the Integrity (and Emden, I think) is at Union Pier yet today?

I figured someone would have called the Harbormaster by now (notice I'm not volunteering for this ).

Well, I'm not gonna call the Harbormaster but I will call my MA tomorrow and pester him. When I spoke to him earlier this week, he said that he would be able to look into his crystal ball (Mini System) and give me an update as to the status of the vehicles as they move through the VPC. I know there's numerous posts here about the "Mini System" so, we all ought to call and see if we're getting the same info. Man, am I sly or what???

Looks like the same for K-Line's Emden. It now shows up as "expected 8/23" on the Port of Charleston's vessel tracking site, meaning it docked, unloaded, and set sail today.

Emden docked at 16:25 and discharged her load...Integrity was right behind her at 18:50 yesterday. Cars should be headed to VPC now, right?

Blu, I was going to let it pass until I saw the 'Ford does!'. Almost all of the American car dealers offer incentives to draw people into the dealerships since some of those big cars are hard to sell. MINI aka BMW does it by having a great product which they are selling on style, pizzaz, and the pure fun factor.

They know they have you interested when you walk onto the showroom floor, then they sink the hook when you take one or two test drives.

Buying and financing are a fact we have to deal with if we want to drive a MINI. Lots of our individual circumstances vary, some folks walk in with nothing down with good credit and do the 72month finance, some pay cash, some sell the first born child, (I think you get the drift).

MINI and your local teachers credit union should have options for you.

Do what makes you happy, get your MINI, make your payments and enjoy all the happiness your MINI will give you.

It's a shame we have to pay for them, but I don't know of any other way other than GTA which should not be an option.

Look at it this way, its a great way to build your credit score or deflate you bank account. (Ying and Yang).

LOL...true that!

Please know that it was just a joke--I'm so not buying another ford! And I really dont mind paying for my MINI--its almost like a mortgage...one of those things you just have to deal with like death and taxes!

That's my point. Build the best cars and you won't have to discount them to move them. Oh and BTW, they run their businesses very unemotionally (hence the "no discounts for teachers").
