R56 R56 Production Week 28 Support Group
i've been on a mission trip this passed week, so i will be calling my MA tomorrow morning to see if he has a date when i can pick mine up. my dealership is in nashville and it's only an 8 1/2 hour drive from charleston, sc
Now, I might be wrong, but if I read an online post somewhere else once, the BMW/MINI VDC in Charleston isn't actually even in Charleston, it's in Spartanburg, SC, which is about 3 hours northwest of Charleston. If that's true, which I couldn't really find out for sure or not, then our MINI's are actually closer than we might think.
I have a theory that the OL updates to at VDC after the Mini leaves the VDC. We all know how it slow to update anyway.... But so far the ETA's listed have been fairly accurate for me +/- 1 day.
MY MA told me Sat he had been too busy to check on my car and would get back to me on Mon. WHAT????? I wasn't real thrilled with the tone.
Maybe he had a bad day but helping customers...especially repeat customers is his job.
Sure glad I won't be doing this again for a long time.

MA's, at their core, are just car salesmen. They're just moving product, and your product's already been moved. My salesman's wicked grin seemed to disappear as soon as I started negotiations. All smiles til the numbers appear!
I interviewed to sell cars once, and ran screaming from the dealership.
I see from your sig that your Mini arrived in the US this past Friday. The OL should update for you soon to indicate At VDC, right around that time, it should also give you a new ETA in the Review Order Details section. The new ETA will be for the Mini arriving at the dealership.

i'm hoping i will be able to pick it up this friday, but that might be wishful thinking.

CONFIRMED PICKUP: at the dealer tomorrow 4pm !!!

Hopefully you wont have long to wait. Will post pics ASAP.
You know, information once a MINI gets to the US is severely lacking. Odd that the system has more information when the car is overseas. I can track a fly on top of a UPS package to within a city block of its location but tracking a car after it's arrived state-side is quite the mystery.
now i can't wait for friday!!
Ahalibut,
You're getting your Mini at Baron and your car was on the Integrity...correct? I spoke to my MA today and she said the cars from the Integrity haven't even reached the VPC yet. Have you heard anything different from your MA?
I'm starting to loose my patience........

Mine, I think, was on the Emden, which arrived at Charleston two hours ahead of the Integrity and was unloaded in about two hours or so (figured by looking at the Port of Charleston's departure time).
Now, looking into soul embrace's posts, his MINI was on the Integrity and is already out of the VDC and en route to his dealership (I think I saw in another post somewhere that his dealership is in Nashville). I'm betting your MA at Baron is just playing it safe, as their info is about a day behind reality from other posts that I've read here on NAM. I know Gabriel at Baron has been very conservative and slow to get my hopes up. He's been repeating "the 13th" even though IsAMini's MINI was on the same boat, and is being delivered to Ohio (not TOO far from Kansas City) by this weekend.
But, yes, I've also not been 100% keen on my "in transit" treatment from Baron MINI either, as now THREE times I've called to get a quote on installing a mulfi-function steering wheel and nobody has called me back. In fact even before the sale Baron was very slow to return my calls when I was asking to come in for a test drive. I e-mailed, filled out the "I'm interested" form on BaronMINI.com, and then called TWICE before somebody finally called me back. And it wasn't even the MINI MA's, it was the Baron Auto Group Internet Manager, Kelly Hodges. I'd rather give him the commission, and he doesn't even work in the MINI dealership specifically.
I only hope the service department is more prompt as I went with a "luxury" brand after years and years of dealing with domestic dealership service department nightmares.

If it makes you feel better, I dont have a date for pickup either. I've been told this week, probably, but by next week for sure. Complicated when I have to be in class until 4pm until this Friday, and I'm working all weekend. I keep trying to plan my week and its not going well!
mine is not gone from the VDC yet and my MA said i should be able to pick it up by friday. he is going by how long it usually takes minis to get from the VDC to nashville, tn. yesterday their computers was showing the cars was waiting on a train to get to the VDC, but they might already be on a train cause their computers was still showing that the minis was waiting on a boat after it has set sail. i'm going to call thrusday to see if it made it to nashville or not.
sorry if i confussed anybody

I wasn't too keen on the dealership here at first either. I filled out the 'more info' about a car I saw online and got no response so I just drove in and looked at it. I walked around the dealer for about 10 minutes before someone came up and asked if I needed help. I guess it's all when you go, on weekends they don't seem to care about helping as much becasue they are so busy, I went a couple times during the day and everyone was much nicer
