These come directly from MINI, not from your MA. As long as your information (name, address, etc...) is correct that gets sent in to MINI, then you should receive one.
There is a notebook to go with the pen. A couple "quick start" manuals to explain some of the FAQ's on the car. The long roll shown is a whole bunch of peel and stick words that can be stuck on the side windows to spell out phrases (they are static cling so they are re-useable). The stuff in the "TOP SECRET" folder is for the Mini ads that are in various magazines. Of course there is also the mouse pad that you can see in the one picture. And finally, though not pictured, there is also a little foam ball with the British flag on it for your antenna.
I bought a "Pre-owned" 2005 MCS and got a bag filled with Mini car care products, a Mini and Coop lunchbox, Mini playing cards, etc. Nice treatment I thought.
I bought my MCS back in May of 05, and to this day still haven't received my welcome kit (that's basically what it is), and quite honestly, while some of the things look pretty cool, it would probably be just in the way and get thrown away after awhile.
Not to sound ungrateful, but when I received my box I found most of the stuff to be useless. It is beautifully packaged and probably not cheap. I would rather have gotten something useful (or a credit toward MINI merchandise). A few weeks later I received a "MINI parking" stencil. Equally useless. I just don't get it -- obviously MINIUSA's target customer doesn't match a 50ish guy.

With both of my previous new cars, both Honda Civics, I didn't receive anything extra. Nada. Zilch.
That said, I didn't expect anything, either. Same with Mini, although the people on this forum and Mini2 spoiled it by announcing that Mini sent out goody boxes to new owners.
I don't think receiving something of value was the point. I took it more as welcome to the family, here's a few fun, quirky things. But if you think you're going to get rich on Ebay selling them, good luck, kind of package.
I mean, who still uses a mouse pad? That was so 1990s. My favorite piece remains the Union Jack antenna ball. I know, it's so 1960s. But I enjoyed the mini.com printing next to the hole, so that the person who steals it can go to the website and see what the fun is all about.
I'm using the mouse pad right now The pen and journal are nice, they're in the glove box just in case I need to jot something down. Even the antenna ball is cool but I'll never use it.
The last new car I bought was a Mazda 626 and they sent me a key ring and mini beach ball. I bought it through carsdirect.com and they sent me a very nice coffee travel mug and key ring.
