R56 Meet "Mo"!!!
Meet "Mo"!!!
Introducing my 2007 PW/B Mini Cooper with exquisitely done sports stripes. I've named her "Mo". It seemed appropriate given my NAM handle.
She is almost perfect. Only a few minor glitches to be resolved (a loose rubber window seal on the back corner and a misaligned knee bar where it abuts -- or in this case fails to entirely abut -- the secret compartment box), but I trust my dealer will fix these shortly.
BTW, if you ever want sports stripes installed, the place to go is Baron Mini in Kansas City. The installer is none other than the president of our local Mini club and he does them like they are his own. Note that both ends of the stripes are tucked under, there is no gap around the wings and the alignment is perfect.
Contrary to some criticisms I've read on NAM, the iPod interface works like a charm. It is not slow to load and is very easy to navigate via the center audio controls. The steering wheel controls, however, are more limited but ok once you get into the playlist you want. To me, it is well worth the $$.
The ergonomics of the interior are fantastic. The much criticized center console just seems right to me. I like the volume/on-off where it is and the audio controls in the speedo. I got the Hi Fi and it sounds super. Kudos to Mini's designers.
Finally, the Mini's ride is solid. Very smooth. Very easy to speed. I've found myself slipping from 70mph to 90mph+ effortlessly. So I am varying speed exactly as the OM recommends be done during break-in.
And I love the change in feel and handling via the Sport button.
Bottom line: This car is incredible and a blast to drive. If you don't have one, get one. If you do have one, motor on, MINIacs! See you on the road!

It's a total coincidence but I'm getting the same (or similiar) stripes put on my Mini late this week, just waiting for them and another part I ordered to come in. I'm assuming you have the stripes on the boot as well, can you post some pic's of them as well ? Thanks.
