Diamon-Fusion

Is anyone familiar with this product? It sounds good, especially when I look at my current cars' highly pitted and chipped windshield.

Sounds interesting. And they have a spray-on application now. But I could not find where you could get any of it. Then again, I do sooooo suck at searching the WEB for anything.

Had it done to my 06'

Talk to Christal Waddy at RPS Systems in Sterling, VA. She used to be a service writer at Sterling, VA. I had it applied to my 06' after I got a large chip within 1 month of buying it last July. So far I have been either very lucky or the stuff really works because after a year of driving I probably have less then 1/2 dozen very small chips over the entire glass (some were there when they did the service). I had a few small issues when it was first installed and she cleared them up to the max. I would highly recommend her

Her email is cwaddy@rps.com. Phone is 703.421.1875.

She will know my name so feel free to say Gene Sweeney told you to call. Heck who knows it might get you a free soda while you wait

P.S. It's Diamond Fusion

Gene

Thanks Gene, glad to hear that you've had good results with the product. I will indeed contact her (okay Skuzzy, heeeeeere it comes) if MINI ever decides to start building - let alone ship to the dealership - my absolutely adorable laser blue with white top Cooper that I WANT VERY BADLY BUT DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND MY CONTROL I CAN'T HAVE UNTIL SOMEBODY AT SOME FACTORY IN ENGLAND DECIDES TO PICK UP MY DANG ORDER AND START DOING THE RIGHT THING AND EVEN IF THEY DO, I'M NOT GOING TO SEE my cute adorable little MINI UNTIL SOME DATE WAY WAY WAY IN THE FUTURE WHEN I'LL PROBABLY BE TOO OLD AND ARTHRITIC to ENJOY IT!!!!!!!!!!! Aaaaaaaaargh harrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrumph, clignoplatsoflub!!!
Anyway, sorry about that Gene, I got a bit carried away. I'll let you know if dropping your name gets me that diet coke.

By the way, check this link for the spelling of the product: http://www.diamonfusion.com

Is there a Diamon(d) Fusion? I'm only finding Diamo(n) Fusion.

Also, anyone have a ballpark on prices for this?

Phil K is correct, it's Diamon-Fusion. I had this done in March on my MINI at the same time I bought a new windshield due to previous cracks. So far, so good... no cracks, and the view definitely seems clearer. The water does indeed bead off the windshield much easier than before.

It wasn't cheap - somewhere around $500 or $600 I think. That was not including my new windshield. I chose to do it anyway because I know how prone MINIs are to cracks, and I figured spend the money once and hopefully never have to buy a new windshield again. It comes with a 4 year warranty, including windshield replacement, so that's peace of mind right there.

Thanks for the price info Edge! That's kinda' steep, but the windshield replacement protection makes it at least worthy of consideration.

Is this the same stuff as used in the PermaPlate windshield protection sold by the dealers? The description sounds similar, but includes a 5 year warranty.

Anyone else having trouble getting Mini to cover a windshield with the Diamond Fusion protection? Filed a claim well before the warranty expired but chose to delay the replacement as it was only a small chip. They are now telling me it’s past the warranty period. Pretty frustrating given I opted for a higher windshield replacement deductible on my auto insurance because I was told I was covered.
