So can someone explain to me the "ambient lighting" in the MCS?
Since I'm still waiting for mine.

there's 2 LEDS overhead (where the sunroof controls are), 2 in the door handles, 2 under the door arm rests, and 2 in the back near the seatbelt thingies. They change colour if you move the toggle in the overhead. There's 5 or 6 colours you can choose from.

Adds a nice touch motoring at night

It's the same for MC and MCS.....six LEDs are mounted for cabin lighting when your lights are on......two pointing down towards the shifter, one is tucked behind each door release, and two wash down the interior b-pillar. Nice. Even nicer is that one of the overhead toggles can be switched to change the color of these LEDs....blue, purple, red, orange. Pretty cool.

I actually like the purple. Directly from the headliner ports its a bit odd, but as it diffuses into the cabin, its quite nice. AND blue too.....

Mostly blue here. But on occasion I have been known to go purple.

Blue as blue can be. I'm hoping over the summer I might shake the depression and go for a different colour.

But Ohio State's colors are red and silver...
(I like OSU's unis better and as a Purdue alum am not a huge fan of the other OSU)

I go blue pretty much all the time and my lady goes purple usually, though she likes to play with the colors.

mine is only orange - i can see no obvious way of adjusting it to another colour! was this an option - mine's a standard cooper. or maybe uk spec cars don't have this.

so in summary - orange!

Blue...blue..love is blue....

Felix, you can adjust the colors on the overhead switch panel. I think it's the second button from the right side of the car here in North America...I'm not sure if it's diff over there? The symbol underneath it looks like a sun that's half full of ale?

To clarify, this does not change the gauge colors, felix, just the amibient light points.

Unless you drank half that ale from the symbol?

Purple. It's one of the silliest features I've ever seen, but as long as they don't start doing undercarriage neon, I won't knock it!

Blue for me! Matches the seats in my car. BUT....I need to figure out how to change the dash illumination to blue as well. I will keep everyone posted if I can figure something out.

Thanks folks!
