My new MINI, finally

Hey all, I wanted to save my first post to show you guys my new MINI. I picked it up about a week and a half ago, but I just now found time to take pictures (unfortunately, they are cell phone pics).

I got the Sparkling Silver/Black. Sport,Premium and Cold Weather packages, as well as leatherette, chrome inside, and piano black. I think that's all. I love this car, put about 600 miles on it, and I'm still getting used to the manual box (my first manual car ever!).

I am observing the 1250mi break in period, however I mis-shifted the other day into 2nd gear going about 50mp/h and... well let's just say that it passed the 4500rpm limit by just a little bit Hopefully no damages were done there.

Here are some attached pics.

Three more pictures... and by the way, two golf club bags easily fit in the back.

Congrats. No worries on the over rev into 2nd gear. It happens. There was no damage done to the engine.

Nice! When I first learned to drive a stick about 8 mos. ago I missed a few shifts here or there but its all in the learning process. You'll DEFINITELY be glad you got a stick, trust me! No biggie.

Thanks guys! I forgot to mention that I ordered it about 4/7 and took delivery on 5/15 so the wait was rather bearable (surprisingly enough). I did notice that my next scheduled service moved up from 15000mi to 16000mi... so that means that I am not beating it up too bad, eh?

The ride is very rough, but that is to be expected. I don't know what to think about the occasional dash rattle andannoying noise coming from the moonroof.

Congrats. Mine also has gone to 16,000 for the oil change. I interpret that to mean that our driving is improving the oil.

I did the same once. Consider it a "heads up" to your car that there will be more reaches into the upper RPM bands in the future, so it shouldn't get complacent.

No worries. It'll endure just fine.

Congratulations!

Thanks guys! It's a blast to drive; I love the color, but if I was to do it over I would have gone with the laster blue/white w/ bonnet stripes. Also, I just drove another hundred miles this afternoon in the rain... the rain-sensing wipers would have been a must as well. Ah well, next time.

The bimmer is a 328xi, and it's my mother's. We're spending the weekend at my folks' place for the holiday weekend, and they're letting me park it in the garage!

I ordered some detailing supplies, they should be in next weekend. I can't wait to get it waxed and shiny again.

Me too, again, and with the white wheels, again. I just love that color combo.

But you don't have to own one to love one. I really like a lot of the colors, though I didn't pick em for myself.

Now get back to driving - and watch out for that 2nd gear !

Thanks guys, I absolutely love this car. For the money, it's a dream come true. I really wish I would have gotten the LSD transmission :( The torque steer is a lot more noticeable than I thought. I get pulled to the right even in a straight line (under hard acceleration). If my transmission breaks under warranty and they have to replace it, will they throw in an LSD tranny?

I get pulled around a bit, even with the LSD, when I really put my foot in it. It doesn't chirp the tires, but it does pull.
