Can't find a week 22 group, anybody else out there?

 

I'm in Week 22 - order placed 5/2 with the factory. Called askmini today and they said it's on a European dock but no additional info about the boat.

 

I called ASK-MINI today and found out that DoubleDuece entered production today (6/1) with a completion date of 6/7. Quite ironic given that I ordered magnetic numbers from Mike at Aesthetic Creations this earlier this week; the number....22

DAMN...Spoke to ASK MINI again and I had the WW wrong, I am in 23, oh well at least I am moving even if my car won't be produced in WW 22

Thanks for the clarification. That is what I thought. Excellent news. I will go with WW 22 no matter what ASK-MINI says.

DoubleDuece will be a BRG MCS with DSC, Tan leather, NAV, Convenience and Premium packages.

 

So now that Rover has cofimed that I am at the tail end of WW 22, I feel compelled to kick up the chatter. Isn't there anyone else out there?

Did the plant go on holiday and only produce four cars this week?

There have got to be a few other folks out there who are just finishing up production and heading to the docks.

Did you confirm yet that your car was really built? It's not so reliable but you could try the ASK-MINI recorded message to see. According to that message, my car is STILL in the body shop. Since my schedule and many other's seem to be a little hard to pin down, I've been posting in the week 23 thread.

 

DoubleDuece, I felt the same way where are all the other cars. It seems like only a few being produced week 21 or 22. Hopefully these were not training weeks for new staff ! I was reading over on the week 23 thread about the yellow shift. But like the person said its out of our control.

 

I post on 22 and 23, cause I'm not entirely sure whats going on right now. Everybody seems to be moving forward while I'm (in production)!!!!!!!!!!!!.
It is very annoying. I'm hoping my tracking tag fell of or something, either that or my MINI is in a special place for those who have deserted their ancestral homeland. Oh well

So where are you in the OXFORD birth canal?

 

If, as some of us have been speculating, there is a slight slowdown in MINI production from week 20-24, then we might benefit from a faster time through the VDC. I was using 7 days in my schedule but I have a hunch it will be 4 or 5 maximum. On the other hand, the VDCs handle BMWs also. Maybe they'll use those to take up the slack.

 

It just drives me mad that since Tuesday there has been no update. I really am hoping that the updates are slow due to the weekend, but then again the auto transmission gremlin may have struck, and they really are waiting for the boxes to arrive. i guess i'll keep calling until the system updates, or my phone melts. On the plus side, it is less than 100 miles from the VDC to my dealer!

 

I haven't noticed anyone else with an auto transmission saying they were in production last week so that does seem to be a likely explanation.

 

Or maybe it's paranoia in my old age

I spoke to Ron at ASK MINI and he gave DoubleDuece a birthday of 6.1.2007(7:11 AM Eastern Time to be exact) and an estimated completion day of 6.7. The MINI Owners website just updated me with a VIN, so it is a couple of days behind. I am not sure why they don't use the same systems to feed the website as the folks at ASK-MINI. It would save people at MINI from having to answer a bunch of production related questions. Oh well, I will call them again on Monday to figure out the exact postion. They are very understanding.

Glad to see the activity on the week 22 group has picked up.

Looks like I am week 22 as well. Hadn't checked the status for a few days then said will be done by the 7th of June. Wasn't sure which week that was until I looked in here.

 

Looks like they're ramping up the production schedule.
My MCS is sitting alone at the docks by the bay.

 

Mine should be joining you in a day or two to sit there until 6/11...

 

Went into paint on Sunday. still the same completion date.

 

Going through QC check now, racing to catch the Integrity.
For the East people, the INTEGRITY sails on the 9th and the TOLEDO sails on the 12th, West people, MADAME BUTTERFLY sails on the 11th and MANON sails on the 25th, and maybe some of you made it onto the MAERSK WIND which sailed on the 4th.Go to this site and enter your vin under AUTO CARGO and see what happens.Good luck
