thanks for the input...

Hi Twon- good input, thanks! I'm usually pretty easy going.... but do expect a fair customer-oriented approach. Actually, I think they are getting there, just a few details to settle. I'm getting back towards satisfied. I guess maybe I was a little shocked that it actually happened to my order! .. seems like at least the production will happen sooner than later, and that's a very good start.

well i just got news that my MCSa will be at the dealer tomorrow and ready for pickup on Sunday. Finally!!!! but the bad thing is.... i'm in San Francisco for work until the 15th.

I was intentionally planning to come back to LA for the weekend.. and just canceled my flight back. Oh wells.. i'll just have to wait since i won't be able to drive it when i'm gone anyways.

ygblat is travelling right now, but he just got word that his R56 is ready for pickup at East Bay Mini in Pleasanton, Ca. Sounds like the first Mini to pop up in NorCal from the Titus.

news...

I'm glad to hear you guys are getting your mini's! (yes, I mean it too). I believe my dealership has helped break the dissapointment of losing max. I have a new production order in hand...kudos to customer service, it does live!

While I may never know precisely what happened to him, I'm sure he'll recover fine once the bandages are off, and some BMW exec will have themselves a spirited machine...

Twon, Weavee_G, Nui-

Thanks for the encouragement! It's deja vu all over again!

New Max is now showing "On Order"... But he's astro black! When will OL change? Where's my VIN?.... Why is OL always behind? I wonder if I'm in week 25 or 26? Heh heh... seem familiar?

Well, hopefully New Max will ship on a WW, so I can enjoy some more mapping exercises... (weird, huh?)...

Enjoy those mini's in the mean time, and do show pics!

Are you kidding, they couldn't find a fully loaded astro black anywhere in the US?

Conrats Max, I have been seeing astro blacks driving lately, VERY nice!

No no, Twon- Kidding... When they overwrite the 'stock' production number, it still shows online as the original for a few days, until OL refreshes... New Max is still SS/Black w/ Tuscan.... Just funny how original Max was Astro Black before overwriting with my actual order... Literally Deja Vu!

ps: Yeah, so having original Max be SS/Tuscan with a bunch of options meant not finding any available that were similar enough. "Oh, you have LSD+Sport, that's hard to find. Oh, here's an automatic...oh, you don't want an auto... Nav? Has to have nav." I had so many "Must Haves", they just couldn't match it without a reorder!

Best of luck, Max! I really feel for you. Here's hoping the wait is a bit easier the second time around.
Cheers,
Yan

Yes and Yes.

Wow, just made arrangements to do the paperwork at the dealer and pick up the car on Wed. afternoon. Had to wait for my ride and co-buyer (best half), etc...

So a couple of days later than I wished, but probably a day earlier than I really expected. I should be motoring up I25 about 5:30 or 6pm on Wednesday. Perhaps I will head out via Golden and some twisties instead, I don't think I want to hit the Western Dragon on my first couple of hours in my new MIINI. My purchase agreement says the MINI has 9 miles on the OD, I wonder how many will be on it after the PDI and cleanup in the morning.

Don S... Thinking of a name for the MINI. Hummmm.

Twisties

Ygblat, interesting BB name, care to define?

I will be hitting the twisties after I get the ClearBra mask on the front of the car Friday PM. I plan a good run up to Greeley then west on 34 into the Mountains, then back across Peak to Peak.

The MINI only has about 93 miles on the OD, so I still have to take it easy. I did find that it makes for a nice cruise between 70-85 on the E470 loop from South Denver to Louisville, exit at the Flatirons Mall area. Lots of damm bugs flying about last night. I was thinking my MINI's name might become bugzapper, but I'm thinking of another and still mulling it over in my head.

He is a He for sure, lots of muscle in the turbo.

Don S.

Just a combination of first and last names with a few letters taken out (it's been my handle for as long as I can remember), also phonetically similar to a favorite swear word in Russian.

Any preliminary thoughts on names for your Mini yet???

Ygblat, thanks for the explanation. I have been bouncing back and forth between two names for the MINI. An old name which I have used for years dating back to my old Pirate BBS days (archer) and one that I think fits the MINI's personality better (scooter). I'm about 100% on scooter, but I will make my final decision when I take some better pictures today and Saturday.

What do the collective Titus alumni think?

Don S.

First post here... Account just got activated. I've been lurking for quite some time. I am also waiting for delivery from the Titus. Total the on line system finally showed that the car was at the distribution center. It must have been one of the last cars taken off of the boat.

I'm looking forward to getting the car and taking it out to the track this fall.

Cheers.

Welcome GNALUZU!

I'm surprised at how many MCS owners either own or owned an M3. Before I really started looking at the MINI, I wouldn't have put the two together. I, too, was considering an E36 M3 before I finally decided on a MINI.

I'm also a NASA member, but haven't been to an event yet. They stopped running at Hallett here in Oklahoma, but I'm just about as close to some of their events in TX.

Good luck getting your car soon.
