MINI Traveler (or whatever they call it)

Is it just me, or does this thing look uglier every time I see it? I mean, is there really a good enough market to make this thing? I can't really comprehend what this car is but I almost feel like it's a disgrace to the Coopers.

I haven't seen one in person, the concept Geneva MINI, to me, only showed possibilities in car design innovation but I didn't think an actual car would result.

So am I takin crazy pills or does anyone feel me on this?

Don't ask me how I know, but it sure is easier to climb into the Traveller's backseat...

I have to say - it's growing on me. I too would like to see it in person before making a decision (or should I say before Mike makes a decision)..

I'm sure it will be a decision by both of you!

As long as he is happy with whatever he drives, he can get whatever he wants...

I suppose that some color and stripes might help...and perhaps lowering it a bit and some cool wheels?

...that's a little better for me, what do you think?

Sounds like I'm gonna have to see it, the rough test unit pictures are just that, rough test unit pictures.

I could envision what Porsche did with the Cheyenne (I think it's called that) except with a Cooper type front, this would seem more appealing. I think it's just the notion of a stretched Cooper that doesn't sit well with me, that seems tacky to me.

I think you mean the Cayenne, Porsche's SUV. And yes, we all need to see the final product.

The MINI we all drive and love looked rather hideous in mule form, too. Try to search for the old spy pics; they're out there. Flat black paint and plastic body disguise does nothing to help a car's looks. When they're for sale they will look tons better.

I agree it doesn't look as classic of course. However, its more practical with the family. Maybe I can convince my wife to trade in her Highlander for a Traveller someday?

Can it get >22 MPG? If so I'll retire my 2001 MDX before the transmission blows out.
Having been disappointed at the mpg on my new MCSa, hope they'll do it better.
