R55 Rough idle problem
Rough idle problem
#2 has developed a bit of a rough idle. I noticed a few weeks ago while changing the plugs, the valve cover was leaking. Both down the sides of the head and into #1 & 3 spark plug wells. The ends of the plugs were pretty fouled. I went ahead and changed the plugs and ordered the gasket. In the interim, the car got to where it would die at idle every time the wife would stop. It had been dying on quick stops before on occasion and that's why I changed the plugs to start with. The plugs were properly gapped at 0.40. I changed the gasket yesterday and cleaned the plugs good. Ran great except for one stall when stopping quickly, but is now back to idling very rough. Hard to tell what the RPM is at idle with the OEM tach but it feels like it is too low. I also clean and oiled the K&N and made sure there were no air leaks. Filled up with 93 and drove about 50 miles to make sure it wasn't a fuel issue. No CEL and no codes. 65,000 miles and I'm pretty meticulous on the maintenance so I am guessing it's a sensor problem. Thoughts?
