Softer Ride

I know this has been talked about before, but I was wondering if there were any other ideas out there. I have a 2008 Clubman S with 85,000 miles. I just put Conti Pure Contact 205/50/17 non RFTs on stock rims. The ride is better, but still very stiff. I see the Koni FSD strut comes highly recommended. I was a bit concerned with having the +1 tire size and the ride height. I drive 100 miles a day and we have pretty rough roads here in Indiana. Is there a softer strut and/or one that could add a bit of ride height?

My clubman was nice on NON rft 16" , when I changed to 17" it got remarkably stiffer.

I just bought new tires and was hoping not to have to purchase all new rims and tires. The tires are great though, just wish the ride wasn't so choppy

The FSD will substantially soften the ride. They are next in my list, with a rear sway bar. I have read multiple posts here on the huge difference they make , even on 18's. The +1 sizing won't affect the FSD's.

I just did 200 miles yesterday and I'm still pleased out how nice my car rides on the Continental DWS's. I have the standard suspension and am skittish about changing anything because it rides so well.

ride better?

Jamussel,
Did you change anything since this last post? I am curious if you figured out how to smooth out the ride. Are things better?

You will have to change your springs to get additional ride height, struts/shocks alone won't alter the height. What air pressure are you running? You might try 32-34psi before you do anything else.
