Wife primarily drives the car and she has gotten a 1000% times better using a clutch since we bought the car in November. But like all of us she stalls some times. On Wednesday morning she stalled when the light turned green causing her to stop. But the guy behind her in an Acura SUV didn't
He wants to pay out of pocket cause "it won't be that much". Rrrrrrigh. Got a quote today for $1800 and we will need a car rental so she can get to work.
Yeah, plus his insurance has already called us. So that is a good sign. I'm gonna get another quote before i call him tomorrow to see if he wants to go through his insurance or just pay the shop directly.
Plus the good thing is the wife is not hurt at all.
most people have no clue as to how much repairs are now a days. My sons hardtop had a 5 mph front hit that according to ins totaled it. He fixed it for about $3K . Good luck on getting devalued money.

I swear people think in America everyone drives an automatic. These people need to realize wait till the car moves a couple feet before accelerating like a jack*ss.
Good luck and hope you get your wife's MINI running again.
Glad your wife is ok. I think if you pay cash Car Fax will never know.
Interesting article about that. One of the commenters said that carfax will sometimes pay for auto shop records to input into their database to see who paid cash and avoided the insurance companies.
was worried when u said the guy wanted to settle it in cash. good thing insurance is involved. i'd never screw around with under the table kind of deals for car accidents

I don't see why anyone would object to receiving money directly from the person that caused an accident? Why is this "under the table"? I caused a small accident a few years back during stop and go traffic. The estimate was $400. I offered to pay it directly (wrote him a check), and the other person agreed after he talked with his insurance. Heck, I asked my own insurance agent and he said that I'd be better off than filing a claim. Why would he care if the $ came from me directly or my insurance?
The only case where this can cause issues is whenever there are injuries I am told.
