new r55 owner. help??

Hi all,
I have recently become an owner of 08 R55 clubman s. I have a few concerns in regard of the car. I bought the car base on the fact that I want it. Lol. Looked around no oil leaks, engine stable enough, no suspension problem. Who kept it in decent shape. 80k ish on the clock.

After reading through the site a bit. I'm a bit worry about the cold start problem. After a few months of owning her. She began to have some sluggish starts now. Like if she was on a weak battery but manage to start up every time. Like a heavy start maybe. No chain hitting noise.

She also starting to make crackling noise if you put her under hard acceleration from like cruising speed. Worry about the transmission will be going. :(

Anyone had/have the same problems I have with the car? Solutions? DIY fix?

Regarding the sluggish stars, you may indeed have a weak battery. The stock batteries on these cars are pretty wimpy to start with and yours is five years old, maybe it is time for a new one.

I have an 2008 R56 with 90K miles on it that I bought 8 mos ago. Started having rough/non-start issues when cold. Had the MINI dealer swap out the plugs, he said they were "pretty worn", OMG, it runs WAY better now! Check yur plugs!
