Footwell Lamps... how do I turn 'em on?

First time I drove 'er at night, she had these cool footwell lamps. Somehow they got turned off, and the owner's manual doesn't tell me how to turn them on or off... if anyone can enlighten me (pardon the pun) I'd be most appreciative.
Thanks,
XLXRider

The colored LEDs that give the interior car ambient light or the white lights that come on when you open the door?

Think XLX is talking about the regular foot well lights ? Unless someone has upgraded them to LED or maybe some home made light kit? The only other thing is the mufti color ambient light. But that's on the doors , Center console ( for very new MINIs ), and the side pillars.

I too thought that it stayed on at night/with the headlights on, but they don't.
They only turn on (correct me if I'm wrong) when you either open the door of turn on the center light (the one next to the colored LED ambient lights).

Thanks to all for the answers... I coulda sworn they were on the whole drive, but I guess not. My car is brand-new, so no chance of a swap having been done. Yet.

FWIW, I think they only come on with the overhead "dome" light or when a door is opened.

I swapped mine over to white LEDs.. a fun and cheap project as long as you dont get burned by the conventional stock bulbs.

And, also.. I learned that in 2013 they dropped the "puddle" lights from the rear barn doors... kinda bummed.. but by far not a deal breaker.

What are the puddle lights you speak of?

Open the front doors. Look at the underside of the door frame.. You'll see a light.. I call them puddle lights.. They prevent you from stepping in puddles at night when you open the door.

The rear barn doors used to have them too. They have plastic inserts inside the rear barn doors for them, but it looks like they dropped them for the later year cars.

I never knew that. I will check it out on our Clubman when it gets back from the body shop next week.

To revive an old thread, has anyone figured how to keep the footwell light on while driving?
