Thank you for the nice replies! It's a blast to drive! Last car that was this much fun was my old S2000, back in '02.

Now that I've had the car for a week, it is starting to bother me that the tail lights, rear bumper top cover, and c-pillars above tail lights are black. Gonna inquire with the body shop at work about painting them blue. Other than that, so far so good.

You think so? Well, maybe if I give it some time it will grow on me. Oh, I got my first check engine light a little while ago during lunch, lol. I jinxed my self on the previous post. I work at a Chevy dealer, so the best I could do was scan it with a code reader. I got the code P1497, which I just read and it is an air leak from the turbo to the throttle body? Well I am off tomorrow, so I will check all the clamps to make sure they are tight.

I actually joined last week (online forum, not the official membership application) but I have not posted anything yet.

I was driving around the H.E.B. area here in DFW, and I was surprised how many MINI's were driving around yesterday. I fell in love with a red/black top John Cooper Works R56. I even saw a Clubman that was very similar to mine except for the chrome mirrors and air inlet on hood.

Hi there and welcome. I'm a newbie too. Gorgeous Mini, well done!

Although I love the clubman, the 2 things that through me off are the 'fins' I guess they are called at the edges of the roof, and like you I don't like the contrast pillars at the back. Still, your pillars look pretty darn good.

Thanks! I am going to leave the pillars black, but maybe paint the top of the rear bumper and the section around the tail lights only. Its growing on me, but I dont know.

Consider me someone who LIKES the black pillars and bumper top. They're silver on my black Clubbie.

Nice R55 you have there. Just looking at the 3-4 photos, I wonder if you know all the options you have there. That vehicle looks pretty well loaded up. Big fan of those rims too.

Oh boy. I wouldn't touch it. Getting it repainted would scare the hell out of me that it wouldn't come out right or not match in the end.

I like any number of configurations on a MINI, but British Racing Green was my go to. I also did the matching c-pillars, so not all the black at the back. Still, I wouldn't mess with any re-painting.

So not only were you probably able to get some sort of employee discount, but again, I wonder if the dealership knew what the extra options on it were. I'm guessing you got it for a few grand below Blue Book.

Oh, I see you found your options. Again, that car is pretty loaded. Anyway, enjoy your ride.

Thanks Blaugrana! I guess you are right about the paint job. I will leave it alone for now. I guess it does have a few options. I was bummed out that Mini Connect only works for like 2011 or newer, but the Bluetooth and y cable seem to be doing just fine. I was able to listen to an nfl fantasy football show on tune it, so I'm good, lol.

No problem.

Yes, the Bluetooth and Y cable works just fine and as I said in the options thread, I prefer the look of the center speedo being the full speedo.

As for your options, you should really take note of them in case you ever sell it. Hell, I would Blue Book just to see what sort of deal you got on the car. From what I can see in the pictures and pull apart from the VIN# stuff you listed, I'm coming up with about $7500 in options on today's pricing on the MINI site. $33,895 new. Now there's probably some give or take there, but not a whole lot. And that's not even including destination and paint. I'm coming up with the following:

Chrome line interior $250
Chrome line exterior $250
Sport Package $1250
Premium Package 2 $1250
Rear spoiler $250
Anthracite headliner $250
Center armrest $250
Auto transmission $1250
Comfort Access $500
Nav $1500
Parkding Distance Control $500

Now I can't be 100% sure on the Premium Package, but if you have auto headlamps then I'd say you've got it. In fact I might be missing an option or two. Either way a really loaded car and I'd definitely Blue Book it as I'm sure your dealership had it undervalued.
