the passenger side hand-hold and the driver side window shade are interchangable on my cms all4, so you could

a)exchange them
b)buy a second hand-hold from a mini dealer

I am surprised myself but I use the sunshade at certain times of the year, when I drive home for a few miles on a certain road the sun is blocked out by it. I do not see however how a handle would be more useful. If you need an Oh ***** handle for the driver, the entire car is doomed.

Hand holder for drivers side

Com'on yetti, give an old man a break. Need to have a place to put my arm during long winter drives. In regards to swapping one side to the other, on my R55 justa, it appears not to be the same length where attached. Thats the reason for the original question. It's not a big issue, it's a convenience issue. Thanks for your comments.

The first free weekend I had after I bought my 09 was swap the visor and the handle. Worked fine and I love it. And the visor doesn't hit my forehead.

Hand hold for drivers side

I stand corrected. I just did the swap of the hand hold on the passenger side and the sun shade on the drivers side. Swap was easy. Now I will look for a hand hold that I can place in the passenger side and remove the shade. Thanks for all your comments.

Just buy a replacement one from the Dealer or go find on at a junk yard.

Nice thing is that because these cars are built both right and left hand drive many parts are either inter changeable or have a counter part.

The useless side shade is a little bettr than just the useless front shade alone. Maybe I sould invest in some sunnies. (Aus slang for sun glasses)

Oddly enough, I like the side shade and did just the opposite... I bought one from MINI of Atlanta and installed it on the passenger side. Fit perfectly.
