Props to Robin Casady's shift *****!

I recently ordered one from Robin for my manual Clubman, and you don't realize how clunky and ergonomically awkward the stock MINI shifter is until you install one of Robin's beautiful wood *****. The shape is fantastic and the finish and look are as good as it gets; plus every single one is completely unique.

Just wanted to spread the word to those who may not know -- the guy does great work and is a joy to deal with.

Agreed, the wood shift ***** feel great and are worth it considering how much time you spend in contact with the thing. One thing I didn't consider though is the height of the ****. Robin's will vary by design and the one I chose (based on the type of wood) happened to make the lever a bit taller overall. I wish mine was like an inch or two shorter but I'm still very happy with it and it's still a net positive change. Just something to consider when choosing one. Here's mine, which is Gaboon Ebony.

Nice! But you have those spacers on it...if you took those out it would lower the **** dramatically, right? Mine looks like yours, shape-wise, but without the spacers. I'll post a pic tomorrow.

Actually I believe that is the Whalen set up on attaching the ****. It looks just like mine and I heard Robin used them.. I may be mistaken.

I have a Whalen device on mine, but it doesn't have all of those spacers. If you look on Robin's site, none of the ***** have what Proximal has on his.

That's the Whalen attachment that Robin is using. It's one piece and has threads that the **** screws on to. How low the **** sits will depend on how deep the threads are set into the ****, which I guess is limited by the height of the **** and its diameter at the base.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, on my Casady **** there's only about 1/8" of metal on the bottom. I bet he'd change yours for you if you wanted.
