help me choose an interior on my PW

First off, I'm nearly set on a Pepper White Clubman S w/black roof. As for interior, I like the look of the punch carbon with cream, piano black, and anthro headliner. I was all set to order my Mini last night, when my sales associate showed me the base audio system and I really think that I want to upgrade to the new Harmon Kardon. He also suggested the xenons, but I'm already really pushing my budget as it is.

So what it comes down to is, I can order my car with the base audio and the punch leather or upgrade to the HK, but downgrade the interior. So I have a few questions and would like to get your all's opinion.

I like the look and feel of leather, but the punch leather seats i sat in(convertible) felt really hard compared to the leatherette. Do they soften up? I'm only 130lbs and I feel like I didn't make a dent in the seating surface.

If I downgrade on the leather, I would want to go to one of the cloth/leather options, since i need the lumbar support. What are your thoughts on rooster cloth/leather on Pepper White vs. the cream cloth/leather. If anyone has personal experience, how do you like the cloth/leather mix?

Also, I personallly don't like the leatherette or straight cloth, so those options are out.

Also if this helps things here are the options I'm ordering:

Pepperwhite/black
Premium
Cold
DTC
Roof Rails
Arm Rest
Anthro headliner
bluetooth/ipod
seating surface???

Thanks,
Ben

Is HC Lounge Leather something that you would consider? You won't regret it, it is beautiful and supple.

Sorry the lounge leathers are just too much $$$. As I stated I'm over budget as it is.

OK, but how much more would it be monthly? Don't downgrade your interior, you spend all of your time inside of it!

honestly not a huge fan of the chocolate lounge. carbon lounge is better, but i like the look of the perforated punch best.

I'd go for the red cloth/leather combo, or a black leather with PW. I sort of regret not getting the red cloth/leather combo myself. The red leather looks great too. You really can't go too wrong with any interior color and a white exterior really.

From one Ben to another, I love my Punch Leather seats man! I liked what you were originally thinking with Piano and Cream, but Piano and Red works too in a PW car.

Here's my interior (excuse the mess)...

Ben, my 2 cents worth: It looks like you will have to decide how your life style will match the cream panels in the seats, as apposed to the red. The cream can get dirty quickly, as will the cream door arm rest. If you don't always wear a long sleeve shirt even normal body oil can be a factor over time. You may consider deleting the arm rest to save $250. At least sit in a car that has the factory 'slider' arm rest installed to verify your fit. Many owners find the center armrest to low to be comfortable.

I really like my leatherette and grey headliner, and guess what, they are no extra charge.

Pepper White and Tuscan Beige are an awesome combo. If didn't have so many hobbies that involve oil and dirt. I would have ordered mine that way.

You may wish to take those comments about ditching the armrest to heart. I have two friends that have them and neither would order again.

I drove 5500 miles around the US in my e30 this summer with a pillow behind my back after day one. I need the lumbar support, so I want the upgraded seating. I'm not a big fan of beige or brown. I do lots of mountain biking and it would get dirty for sure.

Honestly I'm looking for your opinions on the cloth/leather or the carbon punch.

Thanks

I have a Pepperwhite with black bonnet stripes (non-S). Interior is the Ray Cream Leather/ Black Cloth Combo. I love it! The bolsters still sag a little like the leather seats do, but the cloth is very taught and air passes through easily. Cleans up easily with a lint roller after using a couple sprays of scotch guard, and looks awesome with my setup.

Total interior includes:
Ray Cream Cloth/Leather Combo
Anthracite Headliner
Piano Black Dash Trim
Chrome accents.

They have a JCW Clubbie on the lot here in Charlotte that's PW/Blk and it has the cream leather/cloth combo. The cloth sections have a very fine cream pinstripe in them. One of the classiest interior combos I have ever seen! Honestly, it is stunning in person, and brings just enough cream inside to tie in the exterior color. If I were buying again, this interior option would throw me over to the PW as I was torn between MY and PW, and went w/ the MY. If this had been an option in '08, it would have been my choice without any hesitation. If you can see one in person somehow, do it before your car goes into production. Seriously, you need to see it in person.

The beauty of PW is that any interior color works!

I'm definetly fretting this decisions. I'm nervous about the leather with my dog, but plan to cover it up. The lounge just looked and felt so much better than the other options. The car should go in production monday, so i dont have much time to change it.

and $1000 is only an extra $22 a month over the next 4 years

I think it looks absolutely gorgeous in Terry F's pic. In fact that is the nicest looking interior I've seen in a MINI

I have the punch leather on the standard seat. Unfortunately I don't believe you can order that combination any more. I love the punch leather and after almost 3 years, it is holding up very well - shows no wear at all anywhere and is very comfortable - especailly with the heated seats.....
