Does MINI offer tinted windows and/or tinted sunroof? For some reason I can't find it on their site. If they don't offer it, have any of you tinted them and what was the approximate cost? (That is if you don't mind telling.)

MINI does not offer the option of tinted windows or sunroof. I paid $400 for FormulaOne Pinnacle, which is a ceramic film (I don't have a sunroof). When I was asking around, FormulaOne Classic (ceramic) or a high quality metallic film would be around $250.

 

my mcs conv is about $180

 

my clubman cost $180 for 5% tint all the way around including the sun roof.

and for those who thought the tint was too dark and would get us tickets. I don't think so if this pic I took from my truck of Ruth driving our clubbie on hwy 85 today is any indication

 

we got a local shop here that will do every window the sunroofs and the drop in the front as dark as i want to go for 120 with a lifetime warranty .

 

I just did my Clubman for $200. Just slightly darker than legal. I asked about the sunroof. They told me that they will not tint the roof. The reflective nature of the tint will trap the hot air in the car and break the sunroofs glass.

This shop installs Sunroofs. In fact it's called John's Sunroofs. They just do tint and clear bra also. I have been using them for years and years. I trust them and pay a little more for it.

 

For what's it's worth, I live in hot South Florida and have tinted the sunroof. If you avoid the metalized tints, everything is fine. Our car is almost a year old, no issues with the sunroof.
