I annoyed my spouse so much by talking about minis that I eventually got the OK to go ahead and buy one. Now I annoy her by ordering detailing goodies and by planning out the next mod.

lol, my poor girlfriend has listened to just about every youtube clip of exhaust sounds that is on there.

She digs the mini but I do get some razzing every now and then. "No Jamie, this is not ****..its just the new whalen shift **** I want"

 

my wife is sick of me spending $$$ on it... I cant wait to pick up some new light weight rims, bigger brakes, and a new exhaust.. . I am screwed on most of them for now after what I have spent so far ...

 

Annoying a spouse is one thing, annoying a girlfriend/boyfriend is quite another. Tread lightly through that mine field.

Wait a minute... I just noticed that this is in the 2nd Generation Clubman forum zone. Does anybody here care if some of us discuss the virtures, quirks, identifying characteristics, entertainment value and/or highlights of owning, driving, caring for, modifying and/or indentifying with the MINI convertable? I am sure other cabrio owners would/could expound even further than I. I can't see that as being overly annoying, can you?

 

Once upon a time I had a 1998 Corvette with an automatic transmission. Shari used to love driving that car.("AUTOMATIC") I traded it in on a 2009 Mini Cooper JCW with a six speed ("manual transmision"). She does not know how to drive a stick so she does not want to hear how much I love my JCW everytime I drive it. What is worse is when I came home toting the second place trophy from a car show I thought she was gonna have a stroke. Then last weekend I got invited to go out to the Daytona Speedway and bring my Mini. By a couple of Porsche racing guys no less.
She now is just bewildered and shakes her head and for the sake of her she can not figure out why people that never looked twice at the beautiful red shiny Corvette are all now goo-gooing over this Mini Cooper.
Don't get me wrong. I liked my Corvette but I needed a change after ten years. I had the ten year itch.

Same here for us ... Wife got the first one ... husband fell in love and bought his own. Now, the wife has a Clubman. Friends and family (the non-MINI ones if you can believe we associate with such people) often tell us that they are looking for MINI Intervention group so we can attend meetings. Some people just don't get it!

 

Don't have a spouse to annoy, but I'm sure I would if I had one!

Definitely need to find a MINIac to date. Someone who understands the lust, and someone who has their own MINI and won't want to drive mine!

 

Were buying ours at the same time. Best way to keep peace in the family.

There both were completed at the same town however only one made the first boat so we will have 2 deliveries the first half of January 09.

I annoy my parents!! I dont know if that counts, but im not married (still in HS)!

 

I'm not sure if I've annoyed my gf yet, but I'm usually rambling about my MINI or the other vehicles I currently own. She understands I'm a gearhead, and doubly knows how much I *love* the MINI - more than any other car or motorcycle I've ever had. I guess the MINIAC license plates on my car suits it and me. She really wants a cabrio - I guess the one we rented in Switzerland really did it for her. Hehhehe.

My sister saw how much I enjoyed drivng my car - so she bought one for herself...heck, almost the same color ('06 MCS HB/W). Now she understands what I've been talking about all this time!

I drove the Dragons Tail, Rt 129 2 days ago, and was Like a kid at Disney World, It was awesome. And Guess what my wife had to say about it......
Yea, she wanted to know when we were going to get back to the interstate highway so it wasn't so twisty..
Can we all say Duhh...
She just dosn't get it.
Well I enjoyed it enough for us both.

 

Funny how having a 2 MINI marriage, brought on by MINI ownership, helps with the issue of " talking MINIs"

Yep I annoyed my wife too with all the planning, calling for updates, checking the Owners Lounge.....wait....I pretty much annoy her most of the time anyway....

 

My wife is nagging me to death...MINI this, MINI that, Rally this, Rally that, Mod this, Mod that, NAM, NEMINI.ORG.

She has an 08 JustAClubman LiB, 07 PW/B MCSa, and an 07 VW Red Beetle Convertible. I drive the Clubman because it has the Manual.

She wants to trade the 07 VW Red Beetle Convertible for the 09 Interchange Yellow Cabrio MCSa. She's saling the 07 PW/B MCSa to her brother.

 

My wife has accepted my insanity with Elphie. She understands that I nuts about my car and puts up with me.

Wow... I figure you would have had your MINI by now...

 

My wife say's "I'm obsessed"; okay, I'm not afraid to admit it when it comes to Mini's!

She doesn't get it yet. Wait til the car arrives.......then we'll see who wants to drive the Clubman!

 

I don't have an SO so no one formally has to put up with my MINI obsession....they can just walk away. Once someone asked about her friend's new MINI...some light color. I asked if she remembered if is was Sparkling Silver, Pure Silver, Dark Silver, White Silver, or Pepper White. Her eyes just got wider as I went...jaw was dropping a bit, too.
