R55 Self Install of Sirius for 08 or 09 CLUBMAN> Anyone?
Self Install of Sirius for 08 or 09 CLUBMAN> Anyone?
Been looking around the threads and haven't found anything for RECENT model builds, especially the clubman... If you don't get the Factory Sirius at $500 bucks ,but decide you want to add Sirius after receipt (hopefully for less if done by oneself..)..
Does anyone know if the Car is prewired for Sirius? ANtenna is compatible? Can you interact with it via the MFSW?, etc...
anyone done this or attempting to do this, went to crutchfield.com but not sure the receiver's are the right ones to use or even how it' would work for example....
BTW; talking about FULL integration of Sirius (like factory), not via external modules w/ Aux, etc...
if my spouse already has sirius, it's only $84 bucks for my 1 yr activation, etc.... so if I can get a sirius receiver (maybe couple of hundred bucks or less???) and just add it to the car.... maybe save a bit of $$.....

Judging from other threads (just search for sirius in 2nd gen) the cars should be prewired for it. the connections are under the passenger seat and the antenna connector is there too. if you decide to go with an aftermarket unit you can still use the built in antenna (you will need an adapter though) and it will provide better reception than the one that usually comes with the aftermarket receiver.
if you can get the MINI sirius receiver like the one that has laready been sold here in the Marketpalce - it should just fit right under the passenger seat and plu into all the connections. But as far as i understand you still need to take the MINI to the dealer in order to activate the sirius option (it is not plug and play
).
Again all this info is based on what i read here in a multitude of thread on the topic. Anybody else wants to chime in???

You should probably ask in the audio forum: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=154054
