loaner cars from your dealer?

I have always been pleased with the loaner mini we get when we take our two minis in for service. This was the first time I got a covertible and was amazed at the huge blind spot created with the top up! I also don't care for the looks but each to their own taste. I did however get a racey chilli pepper red w/stripes "S"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoppeeeeee....having some great fun with this while they install my new door sills that peeled up.

Love the convertible when its top is down, but I think most would agree that it's impossible to see much of anything with that top up. That's a great loaner to have, especially if the weather's right!

My dealership has MINI loaners, though on occasion they do have run out and must use an Enterprize vehicle, though I do my best to avoid those.

You do know that there are penalties for driving a Mini Convertible with its top up. No posting for two days on NAM to start with, and stiffer penalties if you continue this practice.

As for the Chili Red S Keep the windows open and the Turbo engaged (just for the sound of it).

I only go t a MC Automatic when i had a loaner. I was kind of hoping for a 7 series BMW, but no luck there, i did not spend enough money on my car i guess.

Ed,

I've had that chili red convertible and it's pretty nice but beware the green turd! The green turd is a BRG Justacooper convertible with a CVT! Once our beloved local dealership put me in a Tokyota CRAPola too... That thing wouldn't pull a greasy string out of a cat's butt!

Unfortunately the 40-50mph winds and driving rain did not make for much vert weather lately! Today was good though!

I also got to enjoy the Chili Red S. I had it three days and had a blast. Right at the break of spring temps. I really enjoyed riding around our area with the top down. It was just a bit windy one of those days and I caught a cling on brown paper bag that blew into the passenager side front area.

Yeah, stay away from the green Turd. That Mini has been to more ice cream events than I have. It's made it to all the ones I've attended, but one.

Picking up the blue beast this morning and they said the problem with the driver's side door sill was a result of a switch that they also replaced that affects the opening and closing of the door that had made contact with the door sill. That is why it took a few days to fix. They kept it there so they could do it all at once. I like that kind of service! Still raining here today so I guess I never will be able to experience the vert in all its glory after all. If you notice your driver's side door sill has a little wave in it on the leading edge then you should not only have them get you a new sill, but also take a look at the switch for the door. I will post specifics on the switch when I get it back this AM.

I was in error. No latch problem causing the door sill to come up, but they are replaced now! They noticed that the club door was sticking and replaced the bottom door latch. I had noticed some intermittent trouble with the club door recently. Sure was nice of them to notice that and fix it Johnny on the spot!

I also was able to enjoy that particular 'vert loaner from CF. I wonder if the classical CD is STILL in the glovebox from a previous loanee?

Also, while Warped1966 was the loanee, I received a painful exhaust tip burn/branding while we were all at Jenro's. YEEE-OUCH!!!
