Who else (besides me) think the optional seatbelt retainer/holder/loop-dee-dah is pretty lame? These are the ones that go on the headrest rods. First time I pulled on the seatbelt to fasten, the holder came apart. Very lame.

 

I have not used them, but I know that outmotoring has quit selling them because they was getting alot of complaints/returns on them.

 

Well, thanks for the post. I've been putting my seatbelt on before closing the door because the belt is way behind me. I was thinking about the retainer things, but I guess you've saved me some money.

I actually don't understand why it's even necessary.

I don't have any problems with my seatbelt.

 

I have a problem with the buckle staying up on the belt itsself. Wifey threaded a "bump" in the belt so the buckle will stay up by the top of the seat....mucho better than the sliding plastic POS that doesnt hold it up there.

 

My co-worker broke the one in passenger side today. They snap back in but not worth buy in my humble opinion.

 

Agreed. They're totally worthless.

 

The problem is when there's no passenger.
You have to make sure the passenger belt's retainer clip is JUST RIGHT or the darn thing will bang against the side all ride long.

 

Excellent idea! I really like this one so long as it wouldn't hinder the operation of the belt in any way. I've been sliding the plastic clip up near the top for some time now, and while it does help, it seems to work its way down on it's own every few times. I'm very short so I wonder if it matters where you "thread the bump" with respect to its usefulness for other drivers (i.e., my husband who is about 9 in. taller than I am). Also seems like you could remove the stitches without leaving any damage should you decide to.
