Where can I get OEM Roof Rack and Fork Mount Bike Attachment for Reasonable Price?

I would like to get the OEM Roof Rack and fork mount bike attachment for my Clubman and I know many places will not sell it to customer anymore and the one I found charge me $300 for the rack and $200 for the fork mount attachment. Is there any where I can still get them at reasonable price?

Here are the parts number:

Clubman Rack: 82 71 0 435 846
Fork Mount Bike Attachment: 82 72 0 301 584

That seems to be a reasonable price. Have you tried REI? They just had a 20% off sale this past week.

The new part number for the Clubman OEM Roof Rack is 82-71-2-149-225.

It is stillin the 300 dollar range and guess what if you were to buy the feet, clamp attachements and bars from THule or Yakima they walso would cost you around the 300 dollar mark. So the OEM Roof Rack is priced accrodingly.

IMHO the OEM Roof Rack also has a much better attachement than any of the aftermarket racks.

As for the fork mounts get them as an aftermarket item and you probably will save some money there.

Bought my rack (846 part) from Morristown Mini. $280 or so including tax.

I bought Thule Big Mouth trays for $114 including tax plus $7.50 for the XADAPT2 kit that Thule makes. The Big Mouths are from a local bike shop (Cycle Craft in Parsippany, NJ). They were willing to order the adapters for me, but I happened to find them in my local EMS. (Shameless plug: Cycle Craft has good prices and well-above-average service.)

I considered all of these prices to be reasonable. They seem to be the same as anything I found advertised on the internet.

For OEM parts, some folks have said that Classic Mini does well on price and service.

Is this for the 2009 Roof Rail or the aluminum OEM Rack that I think I am looking for?

Where can I get the fork mount. Also, how much to ship to CA 91790?

Thanks

This is the newly released part number for the OEM Roof Rack NOT the Roof Rails. This part is the cross bars that can be seen under my kayaks in this photo.

No idea. Give them a call or check out their web site.

Thanks, but I did a search and nobody is carrying this part number, where can I find it instead of the xx-xx-x-xxx-846?

Hi! I just did a search of their parts site and they only have the 846 mount advertised for $225. How were you able to get a quote of $212 for the 225 mount from them? Did you have to call them? Thanks in advance for the info.

I have an 09 MINI Clubman currently in production and want to purchase a roof rack. Can anyone confirm if the model 82 71 0435 846 will fit on the 09 or is the model for this year 82 71 2149 225?

Thanks

I know you asked about a roof rack / fork mount, but I just wanted to mention that your bike may fit inside your Clubman if that's an option you'd consider. My 54cm road bike fits just fine. I throw in a blanket, then the bike. (Actually, I carefully place my Eddy Merckx Ti in with loving care. You know how roadies are)

#$*& Roadies! (just kidding) I've had my single speed in my Clubman, had to remove both wheels to do it. Haven't tried the full suspension bike yet. I seriously doubt if there would much room for the gear bag and hydration pack afterward. I'm still waiting for the off-handed chance that someone will come up with a hitch mount system in my lifetime.

Yes, it is a tight fit. At 54 cm my frame is an average size, I don't think anything bigger than about 58cm or so would fit. Don't know about "full suspension". My suspension system is a padded leather saddle.

My biking is primarily the mountain variety although I do drag the road bike out every now and then.

There's only two kinds of bicycles. Those that are ridden, and those that are hanging rusted and forgotten in the back of the garage. Glad you own the first kind!

Check it out. The EuroLariat will fit directly onto your factory rack. You don't have to buy any sort of fit kits or mighty mounts. It takes advantage of the channel in the cross bar.

Ok so the cheapest solution that I have run across and the cleanest is as follows.

Grab the factory Mini rack from your local dealer. Order a set of Rocky Mount Pitchforks from Colorado's own Rocky Mounts. http://www.rockymounts.com. The PF's are lockable and low profile. The addition of this system to my Clubman did not add much noise and looks clean!.

Just wanted to give a quick plug for the Hollywood Buzz Rack. It was pointed out to me by a fellow NAM member, and it was everything and more I had hoped it to be. I bought a used roof rack on NAM for $125 and scored the Buzz rack for $170 from Amazon. The rack holds 2 bikes and goes on and off in minutes. I'm a big fan.

See for yourself here:
Photos here.
(scroll down for pics of my setup)

FYI: I'm using the "old" part number roof rack on my Clubbie and haven't had any issues.

My Titanium frame isn't rusting . It's hanging there but it isn't rusting LOL. I'll have to work up the courage one day to dust her off and get her going again. Its scary thou on the roads nowadays

Cool rack. How is the factory rack attached to the roof? There doesn't seem to be any gutter clamps. It looks like that rack will work for the Cooper.

Thanks! There are 4 little cut-outs that, when removed, reveal a metal foundation in the gutter that the rack fits to. Pictures are worth a thousand words, so see here:
NAM Link and glance at the PDF.

It was a legit effort to get them on the first time, but now that I know how to do it, it will be much easier next time (which is what everyone else says too). I've yet to take them off though, as I kind of like the look of just the base rack on (I never thought I would either). My bike rack goes on and off so easy, I just put it on when needed, and don't find any change in MPG or noise with just the factory base rack.
