Clubmans love big dogs

Emma, our St. Bernard, took her maiden voyage in Wallace today. Plenty of room, and lots of windows for spotting targets for barking.

Either you have very smart cat that takes pictures or someone who really loves to get close to Emma.

Now you just need some matching Clubman Dog Beds for Emma show she is very comfy.

My wife was in the back with her manning the camera. Emma's good for dog beds (believe me), but we are on the hunt for a boot liner/bed for the Clubman, since the one from Mini direct is on backorder.

Clubman is good for the large breed but not two. We took our two Newfies for a test fit....didn't work out so well.

Yes, two might be tough. My wife was very accommodating, but two perky St. Bernards (or Newfoundlands) would make for quite a scene back there...

My Girlfriend sleeps in the back with our large 80 lbs Black Lab. She says it is a little tight but on long trips at night she would rather be back there than in the front seat trying to sleep.

Check out Pooch Style at http://www.poochstyle.com/store/pc/v...idproduct=7215

They are really nice people. I had the chance to meet them at Mini Takes The States in Boston. They do really great work and if you want something special they will accommodate you.

What a beautiful St. Bernard and how lucky she is to have a new Clubman, too!

Poochstyles products are really well made and very attractive from all that I've seen.

How do you slobber proof your Mini?
I'll have a Bernese Mtn dog next week.
I'm thinking about that slobber already.

I spotted them in other threads. I think we're going to order their boot mat - they look great.

Having owned St. Bernards for many years, my wife and I can provide the definitive answer on this: You can't.

A boot cover helps a lot, but you'll end up cleaning the windows and the headrests. But slobber cleans up pretty well - it's hair stuck in carpet and seat backs that will drive you mad. An issue with all dogs, but a small price to pay for having them around.

Bernese Mountain Dogs are gorgeous, and every one I've met has been a sweetheart. Not as much slobber as a St. Bernard, thank goodness. You'll have a great time with him/her.

My theory is "get over it". I have a German Shepherd. Two coats of hair and sheds year round. A little hair in the MINI isn't going to change my life. I have dog hair in my house, even when vacuuming every day, so I will have some in the boot of the MINI. I am protecting the boot as well as I can with my "Lacey blanket" and between that and the shop vac, all will be well.

We bought the Poochstyle.com pad for our beloved Bosque. It fits awesome in the ClubmanS! We did not get much use out of it since we just lost Bo to cancer, but we hope to adopt a new lab soon. My trainer is already trying to line us up with two yellow labs that need a home together. Too soon, but we are going to visit them this Sunday anyway.

So sorry to hear about Bosque. We saw Bosque's picture up on the Pooch Style site - very cute.

Good luck with the two labs. I know what you mean about "too soon". Our previous Saint, Madeline, passed away last spring, and we heard about Emma's litter just a month or so after. Seemed a little soon for us, but once we met her, we were hooked again.

I think we're sold on the Pooch Style mat. It's a bit cheaper than the Mini boot cover, and looks a lot better. Thanks to everyone for the recommendation.
