Are all controls on MFSW light up at night?

The controls of my MFSW (volume, track, cruse control....) for my Clubman were all light up at night when I switch on the headlight. The control ***** on mine are in silver color. However, I saw a MFSW for 07 that the ***** are having looks like black stickers on the *****. Are those light up as well?

If you don't understand, let me ask like this: are all MFSW light up at night?

Thanks

Didn't notice mine lighting up tonight - perhaps one has to have the interior control lights turned up? or ??

Are the buttons on your steering wheel black or silver?

I just looked. Mine are black. Strange that yours are silver. Although, my car is a whole six weeks older than yours. That could be the difference.

I have this with "silver" buttons that all will light up at night:

Anyone had this with "black" buttons that also light up at night?

Mine are exactly the same as yours, with the outline of each of the symbols lighting up in orange when the headlights are turned on. When I first picked up my Clubman on 4/10, it was one of the first things I noticed as "different" from all the other cars in the showroom. My MA said that ours was the very first to come in that way, and that they will all be silver going forward as MINI has made a mid-year production change (though the Clubman brochure shows silver ones as well). Perhaps they couldn't source the silver buttons in time for the launch cars, or maybe they just felt it was an improvement. Initially, I thought the black ones showed up more, but now I'm used to it since they blend with the rest of the steering wheel nicely, yet still illuminate at night.

When I stop by the dealer tomorrow, I will check to see if the "black stickered ones" light up in the same manner.

2006 R50

I have the black ones on my 2006 R50 light up when I switch on my running lights and/or headlights. (By default, I have no exterior lights on...) My Clubman just finished production so I'll have to let you know about it in ~4 wks...

I'm trying to post an image of my black MFSW buttons in the dark lighted up on the link on my signature but for some reason, it reaches a point of uploading and stops. Check out the link and hopefully it will finally load the image. But even so, with the black buttons, the symbols do light up red. I had to turn up the brightness because I normally drive at night with the dimmer all the way down.

Just checked your signature link and the symbols light up the same way as the silver buttons so the mystery is solved, however still a bit curious as to the reason for the change.

Save money by cutting out the black stickers?

Mine are silver - maybe they do light up at night and I just didn't notice, or had the inner lighting turned down too low. Something new to check out.

The reason I ask is that I have a wooden MFSW wheel with pedals that comes with the "black" buttons from an 07 MCSa and then the Leather MFSW that came with my Clubman. I just want to make sure that the black one also light up so that if I make the switch, I will not be losing the "light up" feature.

Thanks for all the help.
