Should 2 light on the clubman? Reminds me of my old Audi's that only had one light up.

The other side is your reverse light.

It's the European style. Instead of thinking that you're getting 1/2 the fog lights, consider yourself on the cutting edge.

Yes, rear fogs are always supposed to be one side only, otherwise they would be mistaken for brake lights.

Rear fog lights seem to be a euro car only item, although they probably are well needed in fog country - such as you hear of 50 car pile-ups in Tennessee. Since they aren't seen very often, I bet most people think its a faulty brake light.

Right - of course, about the rear fogs. What surprised me in another thread was that apparently we Club drivers only have one rear back up light.

I had intended to get the rear fog light added on to my wife's Clubman, but we were too late and it started production.

...or, maybe I subconsiously ~didn't~ order the rear fog light because I knew it would give me an excuse to tear into the new car?

actually euro style is both rear fogs. I know canada has laws that only allow one rear fog light (so they are not seen as rear brake lights).

I didn't know about the single rear back up light.

Then why both on the MC? I wonder if they can be wired like the Audis are able.

European custom is one rear fog, on the driver's side. Canada doesn't regulate whether it's one or two, although most vehicles that have a rear fog are European and so only have the one.

My Canadian MSC has 2 rear fogs and yeah, come to think of it, they do kinda look like break lights

Clubman Fogs Confusing

I was behind a Clubman during a club ride. At our first rest stop I felt compelled to tell the driver that he had a faulty brake light. Sorry...not Euro chic, I guess! I like the dual fogs on my 07 Cabrio JCW much better.

You'll enjoy this. I was hit in the rear and a new bumper skin was needed. The bodyshop called a hour before I was to pick up the car and the guy told me he and the tech had been working on my car for hours and simply couldn't get the 'third brake light' in the middle of the bumper to work. 'We've been all over the car and traced with a meter and can't figure out why it doens't work, did it work before?'

I said, you mean the third brake light in the middle of the bumper that's actually the rear fog light? I got silence. I said go start the car and hit the third toggle from the left. He called back a minute later to say my car was ready.

My Dad's Saab 9000 has one fog on one side and one reverse light on the other. Problem with the rear fogs is when people turn them on during a fair weather run. When you're two cars back and only glimpse it occasionally it looks like a brake light.

No, in fact most european cars are fitted with only one rear fog lamp usually on the driver side (opposite side for UK). The R56 is the only car I have ever seen fitted with 2 rear fogs.

Coming from Europe this is all nonsense, there is no law stating one or two lights. There has to be at least one. I've owned cars with both one and two. I actually prefer the symmetry of two (unless it's in the middle of course!)

Traditionally, it has been a single fog lamp on the drivers side of the car. Helpful in very foggy condiitions.

My 04 MCS had both lamps wired... I cut one.. so only the drivers side fog works.. but I also have those bulbs wired into the brakes so I have 5 lights in the back when I tap the brakes..

I cant say if I like the single backup light.. it is very bright where i park so I dont really see the lamp at all..

does anyone currently have a 2008 MSC Conv. that can answer the question of 1 fog light or 2 in the rear?
