GOOD carpet mats for Clubman?

I just received the "Clubman" carpet mats I ordered online and they are not what I expected. Very flimsy and solid black...filled with lint from the shipping and look terrible!

Anyone know of any after market mats that are decent. I have rubber, just wanted the carpet for the summer. Plus may I add NOT black

Thanks!

Try...

Give these folks a try, http://www.qualitycarmats.com, I ordered a set of mats for my MCS and I thought they were a good price, good quality and GREAT service.

Lauren, I was disappointed in the OEM mats, as well. The rubber mats were very good quality, but the carpeted mats are junk! When they wear out, which should be pretty soon judging by their flimsy construction, I'm just going with the OEM rubber mats year round.
...and, boy, do those black mats show every spec of dirt!

emsjr...ordered samples so thanks!

miniclubman...was very disappointed in the quality and baffled that MINI would produce such poor product. I'm sending them back since I'll wear them out in no time. They are junkier then junk

Lauren - for a list price of $120 per set they're overpriced by about $100! The cheapest mats in Target or Wal-Mart look better made.
The mats in my BMW wagon were far cheaper than the MINI mats, and so well made I used to send them through the washer and dryer once a year, with no problem! If I did that with these mats I'd end up with a ball of black thread and two circles of velcro!

I agree that the carpet floor mats are junk...We've always ditched them for the rubber OEM mats. They hold up pretty well and are easy to clean.

Bavarian AutoSport has a wide variety of mats. I bought a set of their Ultimate Mats for my '06 and they are very nice, but not inexpensive. They come in a variety of colors and are a 1/2" thick. The most common comment is, "Oh, this is just like the carpet in my living room." $140 for 4 mats (front and back). The link for the 2008 Clubman S mats is http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp . They say call for a price, perhaps because the vehicle is so new. The price on a 2008 Mini S is the same as above.

In comparison the cheap mats with the Mini logo ($110) that came with the Clubman are definitely a rip off. When they wear out, which shouldn't take long, I'll get a set of nice ones.

What ever happened to the loop pile carpet mats that used to be MINI OEM mats.

Had them in my 2004 and they were beautiful and wore great.

I still have a set of those new in the box, when I look at them compared to the mats in my Clubman- well there is no comparison.

I believe what my dealer gave me (what he called premium mats, i think they list at $110) were what is being referenced as the cheap carpet mats - black with the mini log in the corners.

I've only had my car for 750 miles and don't have a problem with how they look so far - but my issue is that, when clutching, the bottom of my size 12 left shoe catches the leading edge of the small extra piece thats sewn under the pedals to help wear - its not terrible but depending on the shoe, drives me nuts.

Any one else notice this with these mats? And would different ones (JCW checker or rubber) be any better?

Rubber mat quality

How is the quality of the rubber mats? Are they fairly thick or very thin and do they slip around a lot? Also, I see that the cost $55.00 on the Mini web site, does this include all 4 mats? It doesn't say.

<<Wow - looks like I hit a hot key or something - sorry about the multi post BS above>>

thanks for the tip! I just requested some samples for myself. Would you happen to have any pictures of your floor mats? Thanks!

Being an old dog I dedcided to go with the coco mats of old. Used to take them out once a month and beat them against a tree and they were good to go . They outlasted the old MGA they were in until it's death.

I've always thought the OEM mats were first rate...although I can see where someone would want to replace them every three or four years. However, color is another matter.....good luck on your search!!!

i was thinking to go with the old and trusted OEM Rubber mats ... but I think I will try a set of COCO MATS this time around ... they have a set in "java" ... should go nicely wih HC

how do you order mats from them? their website does not seem to allow for ordering, but they claim to have custom sets for a lot of cars. I know certainly a lot of MINI owners have them.

Very good quality, thick and no they do not slip around at all. I'm a diehard rubber mat fan - plus the boot mat. My MA gave them to me as a going away present - I went away in my new Clubman. Actually, I had to go back to pick them up.

I believe the cost is for a pair of rubber mats, but I'd hope your MA would give them to you.

I agree that the regular carpet ones are very nice, but I am not fastidious enough (but I am lazy) to deal them. Somehow shaking out and putting the hose to the rubber ones is easier for me - and they stop the sand, dirt, etc., from spilling over their edges.

The coco mat people sent me a sample of the blue/black. It is very nice. I think I am going to go with the coco's too.

I picked up my Clubman today and after checking out the rubber mats and the cloth ones, I went with the rubber ones. They are excellent. I need to get something to hold the non driver side mats down (velcro) since they will probably move around a bit.

You can buy MINI mats either from someone here on NAM or on E-bay.
That's how I bought mine. They're like new and were inexpensive.

Does ANYONE know if WeatherTech mats for the Cooper will fit my Clubman? I'd appreciate it if someone could chime in. Thanks.

I have Lloyds mats in my 911. They are the highest quality carpet mats I've seen. I think you would have to contact them directly to get Mini ones though. I haven't found anything but the Cooper models from them.

Endorse qualitycarmats.com also

i've got my clubman on order... .. earlier this year, I bought my wife an 08' Expedition El for her birthday and had heard great things about quality car mats, so i ordered a set: Ultraplush for the whole car.....

really nice good quality and they don't move around at all! really plush, carpet like, almost want to take your shoes off! i have 4 kiddos and you can imagine the wear and tear, and it's holding up great!

depending on what the dealer gives me when my clubman comes in, I'll consider ordering from them again..... can't go wrong.

I ordered a set of Cocomats for my Clubman S - fits like a GLOVE! Also, while picking them up at the factory in Fort Mill, SC - I found out that will soon be offering mats made from wool as well as the original coir material. He also offers sisal as well for a smoother appearance.

Great product and no sliding around either.
