Order Placed: Production Number Shows Different Color

I place my order of the Clubman S on Wednesday and got a production number today from the dealer. I input everything into mini.com and they said that my Clubman is a Chili Red and different options instead of the one I order. Is it normal because I am just getting a slot from the dealer or they mix-up my order? Here are the spec of my car

Dark Silver
Silver Roof/Mirrors/C-Pillar
White Turn Signal
Premium Package
Convenience Package
Sport Package
6-Speed Auto w/Agitronic

Thanks

Is normal, mine started out as a chili-red also. It was what was already in the dealers scroll. Mine took three days to change to what I ordered.

Don't know why MINI does this. It doesn't make for a very pleasant first visit to the Owner's Club. Your "real" car will appear in another day or two.

Welcome to the club, man....I was somewhat prepared for the wrong info after reading how much this happens..It will be cool in another day or so and don't be bashfull about calling 866 askmini they will get you straight. Thought I was week 10 and now officially week 11. Look for your support group (by week #) and sit tight with everone, it will get you through the ride and to the ride. Congrats on your order..

After 2 weeks, check with your MA to double check!!! My chrome exterior had to be taken care of at the dealership since I thought all was ok. Mostly it was, but there are occasional glitches (not surprising since we all personalize our babies to a certain degree! )

This is because MINI is going to be making a car, whether you order it or not. The production numbers are already in the system, attached to random generic orders. Your dealer assigns the next available production number to you, and the order is changed to what you want. You can even make changes as many times as you want up until a couple of days before they actually start to build the car.

Well, that makes sense! I still think that the site should better explain why your MINI might be showing the "wrong" color, at least for the first few days after an order is placed. As it is now, many customers are confused and upset with the initial info, as these forums can attest.

Tell me about it. The OL could use a lot of help in a lot of places. It's still saying my MINI is awaiting transport, even though it's actually been on a boat since Wednesday.

My sales guy called me back and said that it will be update within a week to the spec that I ask him. He also told me that my Clubman is schedule to be build on week 14. Is that the first week of April?

Thanks

356mikel - Each dealer will have a different allocation, or production numbers that are "theirs." So, while one dealer might be sold out into May (like mine), yours very well could be selling for delivery at the end of April. Or he could be lying to you. You might not really know until your car hits the production line.

Prost, yes, week 14 is the first week in April, which is the same week mine is supposed to go into production! Maybe they'll be sharing a boat on their way over here. What did you order?

This is very possible. Once you get a production number, you can call 1-866-ASK-MINI and they can verify what build week it's scheduled for.
