Riko55, I'm a bit slow on the uptake but am I right that that is a speaker system you've installed?

Finally finished DIY sport stripes this weekend.

The difference between these and dealer-installed stripes are:

Pinstripes accenting the main stripes
Stripes go underneath rear door handles
Stripes go over the hood scoop
Stripes are flush with the MINI logo/wings on the hood
Stripes go all the way to the bottom of the front bumper

What do you think?

P.S. Due to utter lack of experience, this exercise took close to 10 hours of work total. If I absolutely had to do it again, I'd probably be able to do it in about 3 hours. Experience is a great thing.

very nice I like what you did with the barn doors, I don't like how the factor stripes are cut around the handles

Care to give some pointers?

I've got the same color combo as you but darn I really like your stripes better than the rally stripes I have.

I had the normal "bonnet stripes" since they come with the Sport Package, but I always wanted "sport stripes" except I hated all the shortcuts that dealers take (cutouts for rear door handles, ignore the scoop, cut around the logo, not run the stripes all the way down). Doing it right makes it a tad more involved, but it's well worth it.

Pointers: for rear doors - remove handles, apply the stripe flat over the "dips" and once it's squeegeed, poke a tiny hole in the middle of the dip and slowly work it into the "dip" letting the air out through the hole, then cover the hole with a round piece of vinyl - it will be under the handle and not visible. Front around the MINI logo - put the vinyl over the logo, squeegee around, cut on the top edge of the logo - this will make the stripe flush with the bottom of the logo.

Where did you get the vinyl from?

Did you buy a roll of vinyl or was it precut?

I would not go with pre-cut - the chance of screwing up is pretty high. I just got a roll from a sign supply company - a lot of them don't mind dealing with private people (surprisingly). Local sign shops should also be glad to sell you a full roll or a leftover roll from their stock. I think my 30ft roll was around $35 and it's a relatively high-end 3M stuff.

That Looks so good zoltiz I'm going to try and dupe your job on my car.

Thanks for the inspiration to put stripes back on. I hated the stock hood stripes.

zoltiz, very impressive. I think your MCC looks very good. You clearly have great patience, too.

Here's mine. More pictures in my gallery.

Happy Motoring! Originally I ordered a Horizon Blue MCC but decided to get a car off the lot and ended up with this Laser Blue Clubman S! I'm so glad I go the S. The acceleration is amazing.

Einstein is finally in summer dress! Darn front springs isn't all the way settled yet though. ;x So basically just summer shoes and lowered as low as the M7 CO's allow. I do apologize for him being dirty though- snow storm past weekend and rain tomorrow :(

And a close up of the new blasted shoes!

Very nice summer shoes Einstein is sporting! Mine's summer shoes look just like its winter ones. I hope it won't cause feelings of low self esteem.

I'm still thinking about those coco mats.
