Kami: how do you like those auto-dim sides? I ordered them on mine after spending too many nights being blinded in my sides by idiots behind me, wondering if they were worth $500

 

Auto dims and rear fogs seem like great anti tailgater tools, but of course, only for accidental tailgaters. Jerks will be undeterred.

 

yeah thats weird about the configurator which remains pretty buggy.
i only found the White Silver stuff in the complete options masterlist, where it shows up as the White Silver Package, which of course is $1750 in aesthetics...not bad if you like the package, but if you are spec'ng your own build in detail, you may not want to go that route.

 

I can only tell that I love them they are working so well at night that I think they worth every penny. I also love the adaptives, the way they turn with You and then go back as you finish the turn is awesome.

I can tell these two are are some of the changes that they made to 2011 that increases the quality of driving, I am glad that I cancelled my 2010....

Hey all, finally bought something other than a VW. The new beast...2008 Clubman S.

Stock for now, other than some Weathertech floormats. Have a duplicate set of rims with winter Pirellis.
Fun as all hell , even when compared to my R32.

cool man, welcome! I moved from a GTI MkIV to my first MINI (an 06MCS) and it was like night and day. It wasn't an R32, but still, such a different experience...

 

Great car! I thought that wth your name you had possibly driven a New Beetle. That's what I came from. I had modded the heakc out of my Beetle, and It was pretty quick and fun to drive. My Clubman is still more fun out of the box though.

 

I love all the Clubman pics! I got mine in May 2010 and still stare at her every time I step into the garage. Since I got her, I have added the darkest tint possible for the sides and back, a clear bra for the bonnet, head lamps, and rear bumper, and badges for the grille. For x-mas, I think I will get her some side graphics-probably the diagonal racing stripe in black. Or maybe those JCW checkerboard floor mats . . .

I already had! BTW, did yours come with the stripes in the back, or did you get them after purchase? I'm thinking about racing stripes for the back, but I want them to match the bonnet stripes, which are black with a white pinstripe border. I'm mainly seeing solid black. Not many places seem to sell black with a white pinstripe . . .

Yeah they were installed at the dealership after I bought it. Mine had the black ones like yours and I asked that they be taken off and the others installed. That was part of the purchase negotiations. Since I took the pictures, Ive put Red pinstripes on the outside of the stripes and think that it really makes them pop. I'm trying to find a small amount of black vinyl to continue the stripes on the front bumper. All I can find right now is 150 feet! Don't need that much. I'll update my gallery after I wash the car this weekend.

 

Your stripes sound cool, so I am looking forward to your newest pics. I had thought of ordering custom bonnet stripes from the MINI graphics site, in black with the white pinstripe edge, and just having those applied to the barn doors, but I may just get the daigonal side stripe instead. That way, I would avoid having to deal with the custom issue, and potential hassle. Beside, I think those diagonal side stripes in all black would be just as cool. Decisions, decisions.
