Was anyone here visiting Maine today?

I saw a Hot Chocolate regular Clubman with a silver top, checkered mirrors, auto. transmission, bonnet stripes, and Mass. plates in the Shaw's parking lot in Biddeford, Maine tonight. That's the first time I've seen a HC in this state that wasn't my own.

Having picked up my clubbie last March and driven close to 10,000 miles starting in Massachusetts to my present location in Whistler, British Columbia, I am still having people coming up to me wondering what the hell the car is and "we didn't know it was available yet" .On the plus side people out here in the Northwest don't seem to have tired of waving/flashing/honking yet.

In 2002 when I bought my first car, EVERYONE waved , but out east it seems to have gone by the board.........

In Montana where I will principally garage the clubman there are practically no MINIs at all since the 2 closest dealers are in Salt Lake City or Portland Oregon.

And I saw one cutting through my work parking lot on Friday!

Greetings.

I'm a newbie. Its day two with 'Roo' and we are all still very excited.

I have an initial thread going in the 1st Gear forum:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=155679

and some pics at:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.com...0&ppuser=58161

I'll get this 'posting thing' figured out, but later. Right now - I'm goin' driving?!?!

So, thanks again to NAM and everyone in the MINI community for this incredible reference tool and arena. I look forward to my membership with you all...

(Crossposted from the general Clubman pics thread)

Took delivery of my Clubman S this past Monday: it's fantastic! It's been so long since I test drove one (last March) that I forgot how small and nimble it is! I had ordered the anthracite headliner but it was not installed (see this thread). Also had a hole in one of the sport stripe stickers on my bonnet Thankfully, both are being resolved with a follow up visit later this month.

I'm getting used to driving a Mini after having a Saturn SL2 for 8 years (UGH!). Seems like I keep lurching when accelerating from a stop, which seems odd because this is an automatic transmission. Not sure if it's the gas, the car, or the driver

Pics!

Awesome looking clubby. You've captured the hot chocolate color so well in your pictures. I've forgotten how it feels to drive a mini so I'm excited to get behind the wheel and refresh myself!! I cannot wait until next week when I get mine!!! Happy motoring!!

Yes, reference to the sail on a boat.
Difference though: If I can't be out sailing, then I'd rather be in my MINI.

Note my license plate in the gallery pics, and the small wooden sailboat hangin' from the rearview mirror....

Help for HC member

I need some basic help on images and signature images. I keep following the "instructions" ,but images don't seem to work, and there seems to be no tech/help support to email for help

1. Signature images- Followed all the instuctions for uploading the HC logo. My signature now has [SIGPIC] in it, but no logo comes up.

2. Images - I can put them im gallery. I can attach them, but then the website will not allow that particular image to be attached again. But I have figured out how to "insert" them in the text body.

I belong to other website forums and don't have these problems. Can anyone direct me to a place, or better yet a person, on this website where I can get help? Is there an administrator for the overall site?

Any help would be appreciated. There is probably some simple step I am missing in all this.

Completed my first Prima detailing yesterday, and am thrilled with the results. Dawn wash, claybar with Glide, wash, Amigo, Banana Gloss. Also did Black WOW on the trim. Only took 5.5 hours! But man, was it worth it.

Thanks lurch! No, I have done the Dawn/clay before back in June when I first got her, but all I had was crappy Meguiars stuff to use. It came out fine, but NOTHING like this did!

This stuff is amazing, I use it on my cars and motorycle. The more layers you put on the more it shines.

Thanks Geoff. Yep, I know I have OCD, and I am totally fine with that!

I was going to originally get the Zaino, but a friend (who has used the Zaino, and liked it too) talked me in to the Prima, and I am extremely pleased!

Product guide?

Lady G,

Your HC looks great! My previous cars did not warrant premium products. Time to move up with my new HC MCC.

Found Prima Car Care website, but no guide as to what products in what sequence. They don't even list all the products you mentioned. "claybar with Glide"? Found "Prima Guide Clay Lubricant" on another site for use with detailing clay??

Any advice or point to good dealer website that explains the various products and best use?

just checked Prima out, hmmm might have to give it a try, pricing is pretty good. I'm low on Zaino anyways.

Thanks PA Clubman!

I got everything from this NAM retailer: http://www.detailersparadise.com/_sy...qryDefault.asp
VERY fast shipping and great service.

Yes, the Glide clay lubricant is what I used with a standard clay bar (I used Meguiars).

Check out the Detailing 101 forum, and do some searches. You will find a lot of excellent information there!
